Yes, he missed the first part of training camp because he refused to show up until they had alternate travel plans for him in place. I saw a picture with him and his two personal drivers standing in front of a huge luxury bus that he takes to games within driving distance. He still flys to games that he couldn't get to by driving, so you're dead-on with your second statement.

I was sympathetic to Royce at first, but it's getting to the point where it seems he's acting like it's his way or the highway. The Rockets have put forth a lot of effort to help him, but he's not willing to meet them halfway and make some compromises.

I don't see how you can tell someone what to do on personal time....

Still it's his own doing and all the ranting could've easily been done in house

We need a Player Comparison mega thread, where you can post whatever player comparisons you want. All these threads popping up is a little bit much.

Knowing people personally with various mental disorders I'm tending to side with Royce on this situation. However, the way he's taking the issue and blasting details on twitter isn't the way to handle the situation at all. You then look bad to fans and everyone and their mother ends up being against you.

                    Re: NBA Off Topic

The problem is a lot of us wonder if this comes up if Royce got the PT he thought he deserved and if Royce wasn't sent to the Dleague.

He was traveling with the team, even got on a plane, so it's not about the whole flying thing...yet all of this comes up the very moment the Rockets sent him to NBDL...where he belongs because he proved he was nothing but a project player and was the least impressive out of Jones, Morris, and Motiejunas leading up to the season.

Woj wrote a pretty good piece on this IMO...

I did have some sympathy for Royce...but at the same time not showing up to practices and feeling like he can just disappear when he wants to and decline the NBDL assignment is a bit much to defend for me.

Oh definitely. He's handling this horribly and irrationally. He needs to get face to face time with the Rockets brass instead of bitching over twitter about it.

and thats the problem... he's not even good enough to do what he's doing

Rooks coming in the league doing this shouldnt get any leverage

How you would you like some new guy at your job to get paid a couple of million but he complains even though he's not that good at his job, and plus he wants benefits like he's the most interesting man in the world?

You'd be like dude you need to quit trippin or they're going to fire you

                          Wow.......
If Houston gives up on him, White will struggle to find another team willing to make even close to the commitment – if any at all. White has turned down NBA D-League assignments, missed practices and conditioning workouts and tried to convince Rockets officials that his anxiety order would be much, much better if they would simply play him in games. This isn't a negotiation, and never will be.
Houston redid White's contract so it could pay for White's RVs and car services on trips, because of his fear of flying. The Rockets have let him come and go this season without fining him. They owe him that patience and understanding, but they don't owe him playing time. It's earned in the NBA, the way three Houston rookies are trying to earn it.

That's just absurd, makes him come off as exploiting/trying to take advantage of his condition.

                            Shameful behavior on his part.
