Been busy at Silver Screen & Roll, and work, and all that other jazz but wanted to drop by. Hope everyone is having a great holiday season and is ready for a new year.

Van Gundy brought up a good point about blood stoppages last night... I think it should just be abolished. Unless it's out of control bleeding just keep the game going, no need to stop play.

In all other sports nobody gives a damn when players bleed. Play on. The NBA should be no different, it irritates me when they have to stop play just to cotton swab a tiny bit of blood.

I think they're just being extra cautious about diseases. I dont think it has anything or much at all to do with image. A little overboard, I agree. But I understand it.

I'm pretty sure that rule is only in place because of Magic Johnson.

It was and Van Gundy and company agreed that myths have been disproven since then. Back then they thought all sorts of crazy things about blood and contracting AIDS.

If other contact sports don't stop for blood, I don't see why the NBA would be any different. Unless like I said if it's an excessive amount of blood then sure stop the game. Guys have little cuts and it stops the whole flow.

Probably because a little blood effects basketball more than other sports. A tiny spot of blood on the floor can cause someone to slip/fall and be seriously injured.

In football or baseball that's not a concern

On the floor is a completely different situation and I agree that nothing slippery should ever be on the court. I'm talking about guys having to literally change their uniforms because they have a drop of blood on it. If a guy is dripping blood then yes stop play. Most of the time when I see guys go out of the game, that isn't the case.

Yeah I agree with that. Probably players don't want to touch other people's blood, since basketball has as much contact per play that football does.

Games take too long as it is

Lechler just said Durant was on the same level as Lebron defensively. I'll admit that I haven't watched many Thunder games due to them being out West but during the XMas game it only looked improved, not great.

Has Durant really improved that much?

Legler also said he'd choose Durant over anyone when starting a franchise.

I don't know how much he's improved defensively but his offense somehow seems to keep improving. He seems to score so much by not shooting that many times. It's truly remarkable how efficient he's been this year scoring the ball and his percentages are just unreal.

It's interesting to note that they both average close to 9 boards and both shoot 43 % from the 3 point line, which is suprisingly good for LeBron. What's ucommon for James this season are blocks, he is currently at 0.9 and I haven't seen many chasedowns from him so far.

Lechler lost his mind, Showing some true bias. Durant is getting better yet but he's not at Lebron's level defensively yet. Durant can't guard Big men yet Lebron can at least slow them down a bit
