Re: NBA Off Topic
We all know damn well what KG meant by those words. Don't play like you don't know what he meant and or was implying. Don't do that. Don't do that.
@13
This has nothing to do with the streets or the hood or anything about that. If you disrespect a man's wife or family you are liable to get injured. Doesn't matter if you're black or white. It's not even an environment thing.
It's the equivalent of a co-worker making inappropriate comments about your wife/fiance/girlfriend and implying he's slept with her at one point in time. Would you stand for that? How would you handle it considering it would be your words vs his? You'd just let him keep talking? What if he takes it farther than that now that he sees that won't get a reaction out of you? What if he starts talking about your kids? Your mom? Dad? Ancestors? What if he takes a different tack and starts attacking something you passionately believe in? Gaming? Sports? Dating habits?
At the end of the day everyone's right saying Carmelo should be the bigger man but you also can't excuse someone crossing a line. Which is what you all seem to be doing. I can't understand that.Comment

Re: NBA Off Topic
I'am sure we all want some more now between the Knicks and the Celtics though. Even more than if you take out what happened between Melo and KG.
That's what KG does, he creates thoses great dynamic.
DukeC: It's just a matter of where you put the line though. I think it's more childish to fall into that kind of things and believe that KG really means that than just say that in the heat of the game to test the other guy.Last edited by Vni; 01-08-2013, 04:00 PM.Comment

If people talking about how your wife tastes was that regular of an occurrence where you balled, I'm glad too, because I've played ball for a long time, with some talented people, high end spots, low end spots....and it never came to that...lolComment

Re: NBA Off Topic
We're really saying that an office setting and a professional basketball court are parallel work environments?
Come on Duke.
I understand the comment is disrespectful, but within in confines of an NBA basketball court, it's expected.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

Re: NBA Off Topic
One is to win on a basketball court and make money doing so. The other is to make money and "win" his way up corporate ladder. Anything goes in business right? I know plenty of people who have done jack squat but rat on other people, manipulate them, and gotten people fired just so they could take their place.
I'm related to some of them.
So yes, it's not entirely out of line to compare the two. Is it a perfect analogy? No, it's close enough to get the point across though.
Other than that, maybe it's because I've grown up around "do anything it takes" people that I've grown not to respect that type of thinking? That would certainly explain my strong feelings on this subject.Comment

Re: NBA Off Topic
Not necessarily.
Your analogy would equate more to a player saying that to another teammate.
People in a business setting are all working towards the same goal. To help their employer succeed. I don't think you'd have a very healthy business if everyone of your employees was at each other's neck tried to climb up the ladder.
This is a totally different situation.
I can understand your take, but at the end of the day, trash talking is just an aspect of game that is assumed to come with the territory. Melo has played long enough to know when to expect it and who to expect if from.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles
