Hey if Phil Knight can make it in just because he founded a shoe company, anybody obviously can get in.

Next I will be finding out a former person with a terrible record as a coach will be elected because people liked him as a commentator...... oh wait never mind.

Watching the little Vignette on TNT with Shaq, Penny and DS. Outside of the titles Shaq just seemed to enjoy his time in Orlando more than LA. Guess that time with Kobe really left a bad taste in his mouth.

Also was that Penny/CWebb draft the last time the first pick got traded? I haven't remembered that happening since. I remember watching Memphis STATE the year before and when that trade went down this was my face

                              Re: NBA Off Topic

Representatives of the city of Sacramento, the Sacramento Kings' owners and the NBA will meet for a second consecutive day Sunday in Orlando to negotiate a potential deal that would build a new arena that would keep the Kings in California's capital city.
That was one of the tidbits gleaned from David Stern's annual state of the league press conference Saturday night at Amway Center.
"We have several remaining points that will not necessarily be guaranteed to be bridged, but we're going to give it our best shot," Stern said during his 35-minute question-and-answer session.

The league has imposed a March 1 deadline for the sides to reach an agreement on a financing plan to replace Power Balance Pavilion, which hosted its first regular-season Kings game on Nov. 8, 1988.
In 2006, the city of Orlando and the Orlando Magic had similar negotiations that resulted in the construction of the $480 million Amway Center and prevented the franchise from moving out of Central Florida.

On Saturday night, Stern called Orlando "a perfect city to host an All-Star Game" and labeled Amway Center as "spectacular."
Stern acknowledged that the talks between the city of Sacramento and the Maloof family, which owns the Kings, could fall apart.
"The Maloofs have stepped up; the city has stepped up," Stern said. "We're having very intense conversations. But sometimes the best-intentioned and the most fervent workers don't quite get to the finish line because there are things that separate them."
Other highlights from the press conference included:
                              • He does not support giving teams that lose a superstar via free agency — as the Magic might with Dwight Howard — additional compensation, like Major League Baseball does when it gives a team draft picks after one of its free-agents signs elsewhere. Stern noted that under the current system, a player might play seven years for the team that originally drafted him and that teams have the opportunity to re-sign their own free agents for a fifth year at higher annual raises. "And we think that's a system, not a prison," Stern said.
                              • Stern said league officials do not envision expanding the league to include more than 30 North American teams. "I just don't see a North American addition," he said.
                              • The league, which owns the New Orleans Hornets, is in discussions with one potential ownership group for the Hornets and has another group in "second place." "We're optimistic that we will make a deal with Group One," Stern said.
                              • Stern reiterated that he plans to retire before either the owners or the National Basketball Players Association can opt out of the current collective bargaining agreement six years from now. Stern said that Deputy Commissioner Adam Silver, who was sitting beside him, would be a "spectacular choice."
                              • When Silver was asked if he feels prepared to become commissioner, he didn't say a word, smiled and passed the microphone to Stern.
                              • League officials hope to play regular-season games in London's O2 Arena next season, Silver said. The Magic and the New Jersey Nets had been scheduled to play two games there this season, but the lockout scuttled those plans.
                              • Silver said the league has looked into the question of whether shoe companies are steering star players to major markets. Silver said, "We have been assured by the two major shoe companies in the league that the incentives they build into the contracts are based on winning as opposed to market size."
