To me, it's pretty hard to get yourself banned. It's messed up because he was a lot of fun here on OS. With that said, watch your tone, language, political and religion references. Can't have anymore good posters go.

Derrick Rose stepped to the free throw line Tuesday night with the United Center crowd chanting "M-V-P," and he walked away feeling like Will Ferrell's comically inept Jackie Moon character from the movie Semi-Pro.

LOL @ the Jackie Moon reference. As soon as I read that I immediately went to that scene in my mind.

Not really a fan of Grantland or anything Bill Simmons related, but I thought this was a good read.

Basically a story of everything that went down from the Malice at the Palice. Lot of stuff that I didn't even know about before:

wizzle, I understand now. No wonder Miami sports fans are so horrible, they're listening to guys like this Stugotz (his name people) character. He was just on a radio station here in Chicago to defend himself against this and basically said Derrick Rose is the most fraudulent MVP in history because LeBron James is a better player/the best player in the NBA so he should've been MVP. There's a legit case to be made for LeBron winning last year, but the case you bring to the table is that he's the best player in the league and if Pat Riley called the Bulls tomorrow to trade LeBron straight up for Derrick they'd do it? Aye. Can we just contract all sports from Miami already. Not like they'd miss it. Seriously though, sports talk radio/tv is hilarious.

Boyle: Tommy Nunez Jr. was one of the three officials, a very small guy. He was in there frantically trying to separate guys. Ron Garretson looked like he was going to soil himself, and the third referee that no one ever remembers was Tim Donaghy.9

John Green (the fan who lobbed a drink at Artest): I never intended to hit anyone. The day I threw the cup I forgot about the laws of physics. I hope that no one ever throws anything at The Palace again.11
Michael Ryan (fan): [Artest] was on top of me, pummeling me. He asked me, "Did you do it?" I said, "No, man. No!
                          .

Daniel Artest (Ron Artest's brother): I talked to Ron like 10 minutes after everything happened. It was just like a regular conversation. He said, "They threw something at me, so I went into the stands and handled it." The way we were talking, he didn't think the league was going to come down hard on him. We thought he would probably miss some games, like five games at the most.

Man reading that again, that was a mighty disgusting situation right there

I know people can blame what they will, but the point is, you dont go in the stands... the one thing in pro sports that you never do

Fouls happen, hard fouls, trash talk, but never go into the stands and go at the people paying your salary

One man's actions put all of those people in danger

That argument of being 'him being the best player in the league, SO he should be the MVP' is a statement that is played out and doesn't hold any water. Yes, LeBron has been the best player in the league for the last 3-4 years. And yes, he is better than Derrick Rose. BUT if the best player in the league always won the MVP, Michael Jordan should have 10 straight MVPs.

And are you kidding me with these dopes? They're upset at Derrick Rose for not smiling? And they actually get paid to talk about sports on public media...I'm definitely in the wrong business.
