Yeah I believe that the actual punishments, fines and rewards were all posted in that article at the bottom if you guys didn't see

Anyway Pack the officials were there except one who started running immediately

Even after the fact, no security...real security just helped prolong it

Then some wack cop comes in wanting to pepper spray Reggie Miller who had on a suit

Here's a thought, if Ben Wallace throws a cup at Ron Artest, does Ron still rage attack?

Is being hit with a plastic cup a more egregious offense than being forcefully shoved in the throat?

I've decided the NBA should just allow fighting like the NHL, then Ron never would've fouled Ben in the first place, never would've led to Ben's overreaction, never would've led to Ron laying on the scorers table, never would've led to idiot fan chucking a cup at him, and never would've led to the rest of the riot.

I have a difficult time believing that if someone through a full cup of ice and liquid at your head, you wouldn't react, regardless if you have a uniform on.

The fan broke the rules first though by physically interracting with a player on the floor. They are both at fault, but as a fan, you can't throw stuff at players and not expect something to happen especially when a fan attempts to assault them first. Even if it was just a cup of liquid, it is still technically assault.

Defined by law, assault is a crime causing a victim to fear violence. The term is often confused with battery, which involves physical contact.

So basically, the fan committed battery, then Ron retaliated.

Two wrongs don't make a right, but after what was going on on the floor before that happened, I'd imagine Ron's temper level was pretty elevated. The fan knew what he was doing.

Exactly, I agree with the blame game going around on everyone. It even starts with whichever teammate gave Ron the heads up that he's free to "get one" now.

Ron is at fault, Capn Crunk was at fault, idiot fan, Big Ben, the refs, everything mixed together in one ****ed up cocktail made this happen, not 1 person or 1 action.

Difference is, in the context of a basketball game that's more expected.

Receiving a hard shove is expected. Especially when you're the one that committed a hard foul first.

When someone throws a beer at you, especially after all of the shoving occured, that's enough to set you off.

Like I said before, I liken it to getting spat on. If someone shoves me hard in a game, sure I'd be upset. If someone spits on me, I'm gonna whoop someone's ***. There are distinct differences in what generally sets people off, and to which degree it sets them off. It's just how we're wired.
