They are definitely suspect, they are a highlight reel waiting to happen on offense no doubt. But they dont play sound defense at times, they seem to lull themselves to sleep on D, I dont see a consistent, solid defense coming from these guys.

Does their defense need to be downright tenacious? Absolutely not, but they at least need to give some type of a consistent effort.

The Bulls on the other hand, well at times when they want to, damn... they can lock it down. Rose does some things at times that I think a guy his size shouldn't be able to do against bigs. That dude has serious will and you can definitely see him impose it at times.

Speaking of will, this torrid pace of games is beginning to impose itself on me lol. I need to slow my roll and stop watching so many games this early in the season. I guess this shortened season makes most of the games more interesting to me because I know there really shouldn't be any "phone it in" or "night off" games for these teams.

Now I gotta figure out how I'm to watch more T Wolves games once this league pass dissolves. Damn, I just might have to purchase it for the entire season. I love watching the Lakers but I'd be lying if I said some of these other teams didn't peak my interest (see T Wolves).

The Clippers are good enough now to beat the bad teams, but they will still struggle against top NBA teams. The good news for them is that there are a lot of bad teams in the NBA.

Also quick note before I give a synopsis when I finish, glad to see Rose getting back to being Rose, being aggressive and attacking the paint, forcing the defense to make a decision and being smart with the ball. Like Rose 2.0. Much much better than the first two games. Also offense is generating a good flow.
The offense is better than it was last year. I'm still a little worried about the defense. The rotations are not as crisp as it was last year. I'm thinking it's just being the beginning of the season so I believe they'll come around. But better to be sooner than later.

Defense will come to the Bulls with the flow of the games. I believe it's because of the start of the season too. Eventually because of the team identity they established last season, that D will come back, they can't run away from their defense

Man no lie I know it's a small sample size but Rubio is playing well so far and if he continues Luke Ridnour better get ready to make love to that bench.

                      Spoiler

And which teams are those 5 wins coming against? I'm being dead serious asking this question.

As currently constructed, the Pistons do not have the size to stop mediocre bigs from dominating them inside the paint on both ends of the court. (Notice I said "mediocre" here meaning average -- not actual good or great ones.) Nor does this team have any scoring or explosive playmaking ability from the wing positions (most notably starting SG & SF) or anywhere on the bench to sustain enough offense to compete for a full 48-minute game against any NBA team.

Honestly, I see a real train wreck of a team right now that will remain winless until serious changes are made.

The defense is definitely going to come around. They have too many guys who actually are committed to what Tom is selling to not eventually get it together. Boozer is a lost cause on defense, this much I've accepted. As long as he gets his **** together on the offensive end, then I won't have a problem with him, cause he wasn't brought here to be a defensive stopper or anything close to one.

It's still early but hopefully seeing games like this will start to shut up those people talking about the Bulls not being able to score points. The addition of Rip Hamiliton is going to pay big time rewards when the time comes. Back to back 100+ efforts, 16 assists for Rose yesterday, 8 Thursday, 8 Monday. Once these guys fully gel, they'll be a beaut. For them, it's not even about being able to drop 100 on teams either, it's gonna pay off when they're in the playoffs and games are in the 80-90 point range and guys are doubling up on Derrick and daring the other guys to beat them and they can't do anything about it. It's gonna pay off when guys are wearing themselves out having to chase both Derrick and Rip around the court. When they get the ball to Rip and he's able to put the ball on the floor and make plays. Any time the defense has to fear more than one person having the ball in their hands it's a good thing.

I like Minny's bench players better than their starters

But na it's good to ease the younger guys in, no need to rush them. Let them stay hungry.

Week 1 has shown exactly why Rose is the superior point guard to Westbrook. IDK, maybe everyone saying move him to the 2 is right. There's a lot to like about Westbrook, but when you expect him to be your quarterback, there's a lot more to dislike about him.

The LeBron v KD MVP race is going to be great to watch all year. Safe money's definitely on them.

^i think boozer has actually improved quite a bit on defense, obviously all we heard about is how he was in much better shape than last year, and i can see that. he hustles A LOT MORE than last season, he's still bad defending the pick n roll, but thats what Noah is for. Booze has been playing better man defense and is going after defensive rebounds/loose balls harder. i think he's even blocked a couple shots. IMO boozer is showing a lot more effort on the defensive end and i love it.

also just wanted to drop this in as it appears i'm the only one who saw it this way. when i saw the box score i was surprised as hell that Griffin finished shooting above .50 percent. IMO his stats are a bit deceiving because he did not play well at all. he got a bunch of dunks towards the end of the game, but he was settling for A LOT of long jumpshots, and tried taking Noah off the dribble a few times and looked terrible doing that too. yeah he finished with 34 and 13 or something, but IMO he was borderline chucking and did not play well at all

No, that's called playing FAKE defense, where it kind of looks like he's trying, but he's actually not. Boozer doesn't care about defense.

Yeah Blake did his most damage in that last five or six minutes of the game where he was pretty much attacking the rim the entire time. I wouldn't say he didn't play well at all because of that last five or six alone. He couldn't do **** from midrange pretty much the entire game when that was all that was available to him from the D. When he started looking to get to the rim though, he earned those points.

Also wanted to get this posted in here. Derrick was just filthy last night.

Check out the stop and go move and finish with the foul at 2:16 and the fake at 2:57. My man is a beast.
