Amare has been hitting 3s since last year. He just doesnt take many of them. Shumpert looked like this in the pre season games, but I'm surprised he's shooting so much now that it counts. Shumpert looks like really good on offense when it comes to getting shots up, though he can't finish at this point.

Tyson's like WTF Amare?

Amare, laziest defender in the NBA. First game of the year and he's already giving up points on defense. He has all the physical gifts to be a bonafide HOF'er and one of the greatest power forwards evet, but he's too lazy on defense and rebounding, plus his mental acumen isn't there either. Sad.

Yeah, but you can change a player's mentality to be more active on defense. When Melo and Amar'e see guys like Shumpert and Tyson Chandler playing defense aggressively (I heard that Shumpert was a known defender out of college) then they could follow suit. If they don't, then it's a problem, and it's really on D'Antoni because the coach has to be able to change the mindset of the team.

I like that officials in this game aren't bailing out players that take reckless drives to the basket trying to draw a cheap foul. I hope this trend continues throughout the season.

I was about to comment on the officiating....particularly on shooting fouls... Not bad so far
