just saw the Rubio highlights. dude already has real good court vision.

from what i see of him, his game has a Steve Nash-like feel to it. has the talent to be one of the top Passers in the game for years to come.

Yea, he has great vision and his his ability to involve others is on point (no pun intended).

I already liked his game on an international level and he looks like he'll do just fine in the Association.

Ehh, playing against two of league's probably 10 best teams, Nuggets were lights out and the Mavs let the Nuggets go on a 22-1 run to end the second half. There's a lot to improve for the Mavs, I think you're underestimating how much changing 5 players from a championship team, losing your defensive coach, and basically getting less than two weeks to adjust, AND having to play back to back days is effecting it.

Mavs stadium not too full and down 20 with 3:25 to go...

I was there the whole time, a lot of people left obviously. People have to work tomorrow, no one's gonna stick around to watch their team continue to get blown out.

I'm pretty sure he said five game cushion and the Thunder game would be the third game. And I think we will be better against the Thunder, they'll get two days off before going not too far away up to OKC, Carlisle's been trying all kinds of lineups and as bad as the score was, the Mavs played significantly better against Denver than against Miami. Do I think we'll win? No, but I don't think it'll be a blowout again.

I was at the Mavs/Nuggets game and it was ugly. It was a good game, Mavs had cut the lead to 47-41, then the Nuggets rattled off what was basically a 22-0 run to end the half, we only scored of a technical free throw from a defensive three seconds. We couldn't rebound, we turned the ball over, couldn't shoot and the rotation defense was really not very good. No one really had a good night shooting the ball, except for Jason Kidd, but Carlisle sat him, Dirk, Marion, JET and Haywood most of the second half. There was a key moment when Roddy Beaubois picked up two really quick fouls in the second quarter and had to get taken out, not too soon afterwards, Denver started their run. Roddy was pretty hot, he was driving, making solid plays on offense and defense, and knocking down shots and I think his energy been taken out kind of deflated the Mavs.

But I was most impressed with Sean Williams. Carlisle just threw him in near the end to get him some minutes and he played really well. Played 11 minutes with 12 points and 3 rebounds. Knocked down his free throws, broke up two alley oop attempts, had three alley oops himself, picked up some fouls, but he was being really aggressive. Nothing like Chandler obviously, but he was what I wish Haywood would play like. Haywood is terrible to me, way overpaid, underperforms night after night, doesn't play strong, can't shoot free throws, can't finish at the rim, just not a good starting center. The Mavs desperately need to either make Sean Williams or Brendan Wright (although at only 6'10" he's probably too short) their solid backup, I know its only one game, but I'd like to see more about of Williams, preferably in a game that isn't a blowout. Denver wasn't playing the scrubs though, they still had some of their starters and solid bench guys in the game.

I already can't stand Vince Carter. I think it was a complete mistake to sign him and trade away Fernandez and Corey Brewer. VC is a shadow of his former self. His drives are meh, he's not a great passer, he's slow, fouls like crazy because he's slow on defense and is just not even that great of a scorer anymore. I'd much rather have a guy like Fernandez and then a great hustle, defensive player like Corey Brewer, but it was for contract reasons so I understand.

I think the Mavs will be alright though, this early season won't be pretty though.

him shooting that many 3' doesn't make westbrooks shot selection look that bad

yeah seems like he is falling too much in love with the 3 point line. im pretty sure he will get back to his slashing ways though.

u dont want him to get to Antoine Walker status. once that dude found the 3 point he never left.

Yeah, I've noticed the 2 games they've played rose has been shooting a lot of 3's. They were falling game 1 so nobody said anything but tonight was bad. I hope he starts driving more and trying to get to the line.

I remember against the someone last year rose was mad that people criticized him for not getting to the foul line enough so he made an effort to draw the foul and shot like 20+ FT's that game.

No, they'll easily make the playoffs. They'll merely struggle to go deep as is. I see them grabbing the 3rd or 4th seed depending upon whether or not Baron Davis plays competently.
