The Lakers are not going to beat good teams while Kobe is on his 40pt tour.

During the last four games, Kobe has had more shot attempts than Bynum and Pau combined.

In one of those games he had more shot attempts than the other four Lakers starters combined.

In another he had the same number of shot attempts as the other four Lakers starters combined.

NOT GOOD.

What prompted this?

The play that decided the game. Ivan Johnson got the ball and drove in on Love. Love tried to draw the charge but it was called a block. Johnson went to the line and made both free throws to win the game. It was a close call and could have gone either way.

I'm not sure why he's upset about it because it really could've been called a charge or block. Maybe he's just frustrated with the loss.

All the Kobe talk but isn't this exactly what Mike Brown is allowing?

Kobe hated the Triangle. Mike Brown had them spreading the ball around from what I saw in the preseason.

Like I said in another thread...Brown was just sipping the Kool-Aid during the Lakers win streak with all the 40 point games. He liked it just like he liked when LeBron went off.

I think Kobe cares about winning...as long as he's the one who caused them to win. I think if Bynum wanted the ball...he'd either let it be known to Kobe and/or Brown.

You don't really call for the ball when a guy is dropping 21 in a quarter...whether it's Kobe, Durant, Melo or whomever.

But at one point...Kobe shot a fadeaway 2 with 3 guys on him...and made it. He was in his own fantasy world.

When the Lakers start losing...who is he going to blame?

Yeah that call was really a bang bang play. You really can't be mad what the call is. Minny should have won that game though so he probably is frustrated with the L. They had an 18 point lead in the second half. Those are they games they have to finish out if they want to make some noise this year.

He's been taking 30 shots to get 40 points man

Thats not good in any case at all

..and im sorry but there is no excuse for this kind of play

..and for the fact that its consistent shows you his mindframe and the coach's as well

Mike Brown aint gonna say nothin because he wants to keep his job,and its hard to imagine this is the kind of basketball the rest of the team wants to play from now on

He had absolutely no intention of passing, didnt even look at anybody...just like Westbrook was doing

I thought it was a charge. Ivan dipped his shoulder and created the contact/space.

Also, they're way too inconsistent on it. I think during the Heat-Nuggets game they called a charge on Wade against Brewer(I think) that was just awful. Brewer was still moving and still got the call.

CP3 going to the Clips was the worst thing for the Lakers.

For one, they don't have anyone who can stay in front of him (not that many teams do). He's also the best pick n roll PG in the league which means you're going to have to fight through a ton of pics. Not only this but the Lakers bigs are not comfortable away from the hoop on D. Last year Griffin (and to some extent Jordan) had trouble finishing over the Lakers length (like many teams do). With Paul being a wizard on the P&R it forces Bynum/Gasol to step out to either hedge or pick up Blake (not so much Jordan since he literally can't score outside the paint). Blake's ball-handling and footwork is very good for a younger player and their mobility neutralizes Bynum & Pau's length when they're on the move.

You could see last night that Blake stuggled when he tried to post up Gasol. He was much more effective when he had him on the perimeter driving the ball at him. It also keeps another big from clogging the lane.

Once Deandre develops a semblance of an offensive game & they add a quality backup big they are going to be a force. Caron has to stay healthy too, mainly because he's going to have to guard the opposing teams best 2/3.
