I'm not sure about D'Antoni, not his ability to coach this team (obviously that's not working out well) but his ability to coach at all. I feel like to be hailed as this big offensive guru, he should have some kind of idea of what to do without players that work in his system. Maybe since we don't have the best run and gun roster... stop trying to run and gun. Is it not expected for coaches in the NBA to have more than one trick? This guy seems to just not have any offensive strategy out there, and frankly I wonder how much of his system works because of him or how much it worked because of Steve Nash.

I still think D'antoni was at his best when he had Felton and Amar'e running that PnR/PnP and Gallinari making it rain from behind the arc.

I could see it with those 4 teams, but I also wouldn't be surprised if they only take a split.

Hoping by the end of this week the Mavs can be sitting at 7-6 with wins over Detroit, Milwaukee and Sacramento. Not expecting a win tomorrow night against the Celtics who will be playing their first game since FRIDAY and will be getting Paul Pierce back while we'll be playing the back end of our first road back to back and playing without Jason Kidd.

Alot of D'Antoni's success in Phoenix came off of the brilliance of Steve Nash. When I say alot, I really mean all of it. The Knicks should do themselves a favor and get rid of that bum.

The polygamist marriage of D'Antoni with Nash, Amare, and Marion really was the perfect storm. Remember, Nash wasn't nearly as effective until he came back to Phoenix and paired up with those guys and that philosophy.

D'Antoni isn't an "offensive guru" so much as a guy who is an absolute ****ing master at getting HIS system to work with the right players.
