Re: Game Discussion Thread 1/16/12 - 1/22/12
Lakers aren't a threat until they get another scoring option. After Kobe, the guard position is beyond weak. I know Brown got a lot of hate on here from Laker fans but he did bring a scoring punch and a ton of energy. I just don't see it this year. Especially with MB running the offense. You have a new system, lack of scorers and the main scorer rather put it up than facilitate.
They don't need scoring so much as a guy who can get easier shots for others.Comment

Brown wouldn't make a drastic difference but there would be a difference. Darius Morris running around is not going to get it done in the Playoffs.Comment

Jennings matched your boy Bosh's total and Ilyasova by himself outscored your entire bench.
Ilyasova also pulled down the same number of rebounds as Bosh in 16 less minutes and your team which still had two superstars on it, got completely outplayed in every facet by a 6-win team who's best player went 5-20.NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers

Others like who though? Other than Blake I don't see who can score from jump shots. Kapono has been on the decline for years and he's had good looks most of the season. Kobe can play the 1/2 with Bynum/Gasol now. IMO Lakers need a scorer that can take that pressure off.

They have a number of things to worry about, but those three guys are good enough for your scoring punch. Jump shooting is a worry for sure though.
Brown's inconsistency and apparent lack of IQ in terms of knowing his role would bring more bad than good.Comment

Others= Pau and Drew and even Kobe.

Need something out there and there really is no one. Devin Harris like you said would be a dream but no pieces to trade for him. Maybe someone gets waived after the trade deadline.
Should have gotten Mike James before the Bulls did...Comment

Oh man just woke up to see that the Lakers once again lost with the Pacers. Terrific, no doubt about it. One question though.
Are they going to make any changes in the future ?! For god's sake. Gasol with 8pts, are you kidding me.Hope is lost. Faith is broken. A fire will rise.Comment

For the Bucks playing against the team that's supposed to be the best in the NBA, 23 points and 16 from a bench guy is going off.

It's like talking about how Finals MVP Dirk got out scored by Marcin Gortat or DeAndre Jordan...We can do that every night.
I know every Heat loss is "told you so wizzleman night" but we don't want to start doing this...lolLast edited by The 24th Letter; 01-23-2012, 06:21 AM.Comment

The Heat avg 107pts per game, but the Bucks D held them to 82 pts and 25 baskets and forced 22 To's. That is the stuff that is worthy of mentioning.Last edited by roadman; 01-23-2012, 08:01 AM.Comment

I know what you are saying, but still, you need to give credit to a team nobody expects to win on paper. Before the game, I looked at my son and said, oh, good, another road loss.

The Bucks seem miserable on offense, but their D is always solid.Comment

Oh, naw man, much props to your Bucks....they handled business and should be proud of their victory. I'm never one to downplay a win or loss....I was just speaking to breaking down stats like that...

Jennings usually brings the shooting percentages down, along with Sjax, now.Comment
