Does no Robinson mean Duncan and the Spurs vulnerable?

Don't get me wrong, I think Tim Duncan is a very good player, but he's kinda overrated. I think having David Robinson took all the pressure off of Duncan, allowing Duncan to do his thang while Robinson guarded the likes of Shaq (which allowed Duncan to help out instead of straight-up guard Shaq).

No that Robinson is gone, the pressure is on Duncan. I don't know how they've done the rest of the pre-season, but I watched the Rockets/Spurs game, and the Spurs got their asses handed to them. It's only pre-season, but still.

Now, L.A. is re-loaded (and despite the controversey, L.A. is still the team this year--and don't forget, the Lakers thrive on turmoil), Dallas is stacked as is Minnesota, and Sacramento is still a threat.

I don't see the Spurs repeating. What d'ya'll think?

THe Spurs never had a chance of repeating, unless of course, Dave gets a favor from THE ALMIGHTY ONE AGAIN, and the Lakers, Kings, and Mavs gets some bad injuries

Well I think Duncan might be, or is soon to be a better player then Robinson. They play a different game so it's hard to compare but there are just some things he can do that Robinson could not. (Not though Robinson needed to...). I also think Duncan was at his best in the playoffs when Robinson was on the bench. He worked well out there with Malik Rose, so hopefully he and Nesterovic can help out.
But hey maybe you are right, I mean look what 'Mr Overrated, I wouldn't be much of a player without the big man by my side' Kobe Bryant did without Shaq. 1-13 or something wasn't it?

Oh and Spurs didn't get the best record in the league last year for nothing. During the season they beat the Kings 3-1, Lakers 4-0, Mavs 2-1. They've proved they can beat any fully fit team and were actually leading the Mavs 2-1 while Dirk was playing so I don't know what the hell you are talking about Atrillion...
Seems Phil Jackson isn't the only one who is jealous of and hates the Spurs.

Tim Duncan is underrated, lots of people still dont regard him as the best player and those who do think its close. Tim Duncan is BY FAR the best player in the NBA.

no, not 1-13, but not much better, don't take it personally though, everyone feels that when they disagree with me, the best way to get at me is with a bash kobe statement......I could care less, I'm not talking about individual players, i'm talking about teams, my opinion on kobe skills won't change cause you disagree, but me and a lot of other people believe that the Lakers and Kings are the real top dogs.

It is my "PROFESSIONAL" opinion that the Spurs would make the playoffs (prob 6 seed) with Kobe instead of Duncan(no championship though, not even close).....it is also my "PROFESSIONAL" opinion that the Lakers wouldn't make the playoffs at all with Duncan and no Shaq or Kobe(that's how horrible the Lakers role players are)....Post Michael Jordan, no guard can lead his team to a Championship...Kobe would run the EAST

OVERRATED.....It is my "PROFESSIONAL" opinion that the ANALYSIST, COACHES, GM'S, AND SPORTSWRITERS that CALL KOBE THE MAN are much more CREDIBLE than the FACELESS ADMIRAL.....IMPO
