Looking at it I think Michael Finley could be the most under rated player in NBA by far.

He gets no love in the Media, who is in love with Dirk and even puts Nash in front of him. Finley is the best defender they have. He can do just about anything you need from a perimeter player offensively. He is a leader and yet humble at the same time.

He is a legit superstar but is looked at as trade bait all the time.

    Mad game no respect.

Nah, I think that title belongs to Jamal Mashburn

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

I would agree with Mashburn, but not over Finley. I at least hear Mashburn's name every now and then. He was even an all-star last year, so at least people notice. Fin, he's been rock solid for so long, and no one says anything about him. And now that his team is even more stacked, you'll hear even less.

I say Mashburn, he was a legit MVP candidate last year and didn't even get any mention it seemed.

DAMN....I knew Finley was underrated, but not THAT underrated.

Looking at those stats, I'm amazed. This dude managed to maintain a 20 ppg average on that Dallas team, whilst being their best defender. 15 points as a rook, too. And noone can forget how, when Nowitski (spel?) went down in the playoffs...he was the dude that showed all heart and ALMOST pushed it to game seven, until the Spurs turned in on in the 4th quarter of game 6.

In reality, he may be the Mav's best player. Dirk is great to, but has height advantage, and the uncanny ability to shoot the ball for a big man.

Finley and Rip Hamilton in my opinion are the two most underrated. Mash is up there, but at least he made the all-star team. No way Rip and Fin should have been left off.

Antawn Jamison is pretty underrated to. He's had two great seasons the past couple of years, and for a dude only 6'8' he's tough as nails.

Yeah, I would agree with you all that Michael Finley and Jamal Mashburn are the two most underrated players in the league now.

And also don't forget about Antonio McDyess. He was a yearly All-Star snub until suffering his recent knee injuries prevented him from playing the last few years at his usual high level.
