Re: All LeBron Talk Part 2

This is useless. We are like what, 6 - 7 games into the season? Can't we do this when we're like 40 or so games in?

It's obvious that Makaveli071 doesn't like LeBron, or better yet, likes Carmelo more. So, let's just let him be. Even if LeBron was doing 20 - 8 - 8, and Melo was at 17 - 6 - 5, Carmelo would still be better, cause then uhhhhh Melo has better hair. . . .Ya

So, let's just all chill, and enjoy this rookies play.

      Good point....

I'm tryin' to chill, but I gotta admit there's an excitement here in town that's hard not to get caught up in...No one expects LeBron to be a savior, no one (except me, the eternal optimist )expects them to win any more than 30 or so games or expects them to make a playoff run. But half the games are carried on local TV, and the other half are on the Fox Sports Ohio station so everyone's watching. My dad calls me every other day talking about the team and what they need to do, etc...Even my MOTHER has been watching the games. I almost choked on a sandwhich when I was over their house last week, and mom busts out with her take on Ricky Davis. She says: "That Reggie Douglas boy needs to pass the ball to LeBron more..." LOL

Thats what James has brought to this team. Now, people look forward to Cavs games and that hasn't been the case since the Price/Nance/Daugherty days....

Haha, that's funny. Reggie Douglas. .

I'm not saying don't enjoy what he brings, what both those guys bring, I'm just saying that's its useless to be arguing like this about who is better.

Obviously LeBron has brought in a lot of attention. He has brought basketball back to the general populace, who would never ever watch it. He has already created tremendous revenue for the L and for himself. He should be praised on that alone. The basketball stuff will come in time.

Re: All LeBron Talk Part 2

Weird, this LeBron thread isn't stickied anymore. I guess a lot of the hype on this guy has died down.

He had a great game tonight, even though his team lost.

                        Check out his line:

                        28 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, 10-18 shooting (55.6%), 2-4 3-pointers, 6-8 free throws (75%), but with 4 turnovers.

His season stats after 11 games are:

                        16.5 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 6.5 apg, 1.27 spg, .82 bpg, 43.3 fg%, 59.5 ft%, with 3.64 topg.

Those turnover numbers are high, but he's a rookie, and handles the ball a lot, so it's ok.

He's definitely having a great rookie season so far though. I am happy for him, and glad that he isn't a total bust. He isn't going super crazy with his numbers, but he is playing a solid game. On top of that, his team already has 4 wins. They only had 17 last year. That means after 12 games this year, they are already about a quarter of the way to the total number of wins last year.

Oh, and I know that someone's going to bring up Carmelo, so I'll do it first. The Nuggets have only won 5 games so far. They are playing tonight, but the game is still going on.

Carmelo's line after 10 games, not counting tonight:

                        17.1 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 2.7 apg, 1.1 spg, .4 bpg, 34.8 fg%, 71.7 ft%, 3 topg.

It's pretty close with the points and the rebounds, but LeBron is taking all the other stats. Both are really good rookies.
