    David Lee doesn't defend.

There is a chance they could be among the top four seeds next year, but thats small consolation. In the NBA, fourth best isn't close to being good enough. Carmelo Anthony is clearly the most dynamic scorer in the league, Stoudemire is explosive, Chandler and Shumpert can play serious defense. They have some positives going for them.

There are plenty of negatives though. Their defense is more aggressive now but is vulnerable to cutters and ball reversal. They are a sloppy passing group and don't feature much man movement. Isolation heavy offenses will lose critical ballgames.

Carmelo is plenty strong, has broad shoulders, but its questionable if he is the strongest small forward in the league. What about that LeBron James fella? Length is actually somewhat overrated. Strength, awareness, and anticipation is more important. You have to be able to rotate, box out, deal with all kinds of screens, ect. Does Carmelo have the chops?

Stoudemire will be hard to unload, he has an extensive injury history. Very risky to take him on.

Could they beat the Bulls? Unlikely, but not impossible. Rose and Deng are the only Bulls who can create their own shots. Deng is erratic. Rose still takes too many dribbles and creates unnecessary issues for himself. Boozer is invisible too often. If the Bulls are that inept in the clutch, then they could be had. The Bulls could choke off the Knicks predictable offense though and will have them well scouted.

Bulls had the worst game of the season against the Knicks on Sunday. I would say with how poorly the Bulls played on Sunday this shows how much the Knicks should not want to play them in the first round. In a 7 game series, no way are the Bulls going to make that many mistakes in 4 games. Oh and yes, I am biased, I have no shame.

As for the topic at hand, the Knicks could easily be a 4 seed next year. They could have been a 4 seed this year. The east really is open from the 3 seed down. I think this is the Celtics last run so they will not be in the equation. Pacers will be a contender for that 3 or 4 spot, in my opinion. Other than that, the Magic could be there. My point is, the Knicks could be a 3 or 4 seed next year because I wont consider anyone else good enough in the east to take those spots from them.

It's the NBA, no team is fearing another team.

The Knicks are missing two of their best four players, they aren't getting by anyone in the first round this year regardless of what seed they get.

I think the Knicks can get out of the first round this year.

Better hope there's a 4 game swing for that 6th seed.

You guys realize you are talking about the Knicks right? They will find a way to **** all momentum up this year and next year and years following. This org is a mess fundamentally off and on the court. Plus, Isaiah Thomas is on the market again. There goes everything lol.

Nope. It's a one time thing, and they used it on Billups.

Fear and preferences are two completely separate things. I do agree with your post though.

Only way I see Knicks making it out the first round is by grabbing that 6 seed and I still have serious doubts they could.

Ok, I'm going out on a limb here. Knicks make it out the first round no matter WHO they face. There I said it.
