    Best Non-USA player ever?

Who do you think made the greatest impact in NBA? Sabonis, Petrović, Ginobili or maybe Nowitzki? (I'm not counting Nash here.. ) For me personally it's Dražen because he trained more than anybody in the league and wanted to play more than live. He once came from road game and the same evening they had a game against Lakers and had training in the morning and rest in the evening, but he stayed to train 2 hours after the training finished for everybody and then came home and went to drive a bicycle and his coach was at his flat and he woke up and Dražen was driving that bike... And ofcourse for his basketball skills and IQ(I'd say somewhere like Kobe' and MJ's). His J is the best ever(if you ask me). Even Reggie Miller said that Dražen was the dirtiest(he means the best) trash talker because he could talk like 5 alnguages and best 3 pointer ever.

Why wouldn't you count Steve Nash? Last time I checked Canada isn't in America.

Don't you think I know that. And there is no debate that Nash is best non-USA player ever..so that's why I excluded him.

So why would you make a thread entitled "Best Non-USA player ever?" if you yourself just said "there is no debate that Nash is the best non-USA player ever"? That makes complete sense.

          1. Hakeem Olajuwon (Nigeria). Had incredible speed and range. An unstoppable scorer and a four-space rebounder. Could do everything but pass.

          2. Tim Duncan (Virgin Islands). Versatile scorer down low and from mid range. A long armed rebounder and alert help defender. Total winner.

          3. Pau Gasol (Spain). Mastered the triangle offense in no time. A scorer, passer, handler, and rebounder.

          4. Steve Nash (South Africa). Seemingly one step ahead of everyone else on the court. An incomparable passer, handler, and long range bomber.

          5. Dirk Nowitzki (Germany). Master of the off balance, wrong footed jump shot. Proved that what he does is good enough to win a Title.

          6. Manu Ginobli (Argentina). His lefty penetrations were unstoppable. Lethal in the clutch.

          7. Dominique Wilkins (France). An incredible scorer and power dunker.

          8. Detlef Schrempf (Germany). Could do a bit of everything, pass, score, rebound, and run. One of the smartest players of all time.

          9. Dikembe Mutombo (Zaire). A relentless rebounder and shot-blocker.

          10. Toni Kukoc (Croatia). At 6'10, could handle like a guard and create his own shots against anybody.

Guys on the bubble would be Patrick Ewing (Jamaica), Tony Parker (Belgium), Rik Smits (Netherlands), Rolando Blackman (Panama), and Drazen Petrovic (Croatia).

On Petrovic, yes, he had the quickest release ever (even faster than Sam Jones and Jerry West) and would get my vote for greatest shooter of all time. He wasn't incredibly versatile though, and his defense was horrid.

Sabonis was at least 330 lbs and could pass, hook, and bang line drive jumpers. In the NBA, he was completely stationary because of all the wear and tear on his body.

Voted Sabonis on that list, would have/should have voted Dream.

Wondering which Olajuwon you watched? Because the one I saw win the back-to-back championships was the best passing center in the league during that time. No way does the 4-out, 1-in offense work without him being a good passer.

If this were true then the thread sucks... and it's still not true but Alex Brady ran down the list for me.

Including Steve Nash is still kind of silly because he went to college in the US. International players are usually considered guys who came straight from Europe, Africa or Asia to play in the NBA.

                    So its gotta be Dirk.
