The perfect scenario for myself would have been the Spurs winning the championship.

Heat win = LeBron gets a ring
Celtics win = They get banner #18 and I bitterly hate them
Thunder win = Derek Fisher gets a 6th ring and has more than Kobe
That last one just makes me laugh. Maybe comparing Fisher's rings to Horry could be taken seriously but do Lakers fans really care if Fisher happens to be on more championship teams than Kobe?

      Knowing Lakers fans, probably.
      NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers
      NBA: Dallas Mavericks

Well if there's people stupid enough to think Brian Scalabrine, Adam Morrison, and DJ Mbenga are better than LeBron because they all have more rings, then I wouldn't be surprised if people brought up Derek Fisher's rings in comparison to Kobe. It's just annoying that anyone could have been on those championship teams to get those 5 and if the Thunder win it this year he would have had no impact.

            LOL. In hindsight.

Neither of these teams made it.

I'm still confused. You bring up the "stupid enough" people but you are the one saying you don't want him to win one more than Kobe here... and basically just said it again.

Only 129 dunks on the season, only average 13.9 fast break points per game out of 104 total points, and their center has a very boring, unathletic style of play. Their team revolves more around crisp passing than flashy dribbling followed by kickouts. Not to mention the fact that they rarely throw alley oops.

It's fair to call them boring, at least more boring than the Thunder.

What I meant is OTHER people will bring up how good Derek Fisher is and use his number of rings as an argument. Plus I personally don't like Fisher and I dislike players who sign with a team they know they will win a championship with unless they had a significant impact. Sorry if I sound stupid.

You don't have to dunk and have a lot of fast breaks to be exciting.

Lol - basically calling fundamental basketball boring. SMH.

Cool, but surely you can see how someone would say they are boring, correct? No need to tell the guy he hasn't watched the Spurs much.

                          Team also lacks star power.

Not saying you sound stupid at all. I just don't understand why it makes a difference if some fan who clearly doesn't understand basketball argues that Fisher's rings hold some weight in a comparison between him and Kobe. That person should be dismissed and anything else they have to say loses all validity. You can hate Fish, that's a different thing (though your reason there is kind of shaky too... who knew the Thunder was winning a championship? They still haven't won anything.) but I don't see the necessity to go against his team so you don't have to deal with those fans that clearly don't have a clue.

Your post shows that YOU'VE watched the Spurs... even if it's still crazy that you or anyone thinks the description leads to "boring". The number of dunks? Really? The Wizards are up there in total dunks if I'm not mistaken... they were definitely boring to watch this year. This quote right here makes me think you're not really looking for NBA ball (or even college ball for that matter)...

Their team revolves more around crisp passing than flashy dribbling followed by kickouts.
It's also a sad day when players of the caliber of Duncan, Parker and Ginobli aren't considered "star quality". Even Jackson as the fourth option gives them as good of a top 4 as anyone.

The NBA should have a "Alternative Finals" game. Just one game between the 2 teams that didn't get to the Finals. If only the players were willing to play...that would be sweet!
