Re: Steve Nash (Prime) vs Chris Paul
We need to come up with a harder debate, lol.
Steve Nash. He still on some 'do what he want' type ish and he's "past his prime", lol.#WashedGamer -

I think it is an easy choice, but Nash doesn't get the most love here.GT: Event Horizon 0Comment

Re: Steve Nash (Prime) vs Chris Paul
Paul because of his impact on the defensive end. He's probably the second most efficient shooter at PG behind Nash too.[NYK|DAL|VT]

Man Chris Paul isn't a good defensive pg either. He does a good job of playing the passing lanes but that's it. Hell most of the pgs in the league aren't that good defensively but that's probably due to there being a ton of good pgs in the league so its gonna be hard to contain them all.
I really want to take Chris Paul but that fact that Steve Nash is a sharp shooter an runs an offense better then anyone makes me side with him. Then again I would take Deron Williams over both of them every time.Comment

Re: Steve Nash (Prime) vs Chris Paul
CP3 is actually a pretty good one-on-one defender and always turns it up a notch late in the game. PGs are always subject to being picked in P&Rs, however. He flops a lot but between his ability to draw offensive fouls and 2.5 steals per game, his defensive contribution is much more than Nash's is. He's the best defensive PG in the game imo.[NYK|DAL|VT]

Re: Steve Nash (Prime) vs Chris Paul
Not to derail the thread but Paul a better defender than a healthy D.Rose or Rondo? Interesting...#WashedGamerComment

Re: Steve Nash (Prime) vs Chris Paul
Nash was an incredible passer and handler. A dead eye shooter with all encompassing court vision. A bunch of release points on his shots made him a tricky finisher. He basically played in a perpetual fast break offense.
On defense, he would get nailed by screens and posted up by strong guards. He has sticky fingers and never really moved well or often without the ball.
Paul has lost a step but is still speedy. He is an outstanding passer, handler, and his court vision is supreme. He has developed into a dead eye shooter and is a surprisingly good rebounder. Paul is the best screen/roll player in the NBA.
On the uphill end of the court, Paul is crushed by screens, posted and manuevered to sweet spots. At 5'11 and 175 he is runtish. Doesn't go left well at all and is an inferior finisher compared to Nash. When the ball isn't in Paul's hands, he is useless.
Both very good players, but flawed because they need a ton of ball time to make a difference. Thats why they'll never achieve parity with points like Magic Johnson, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, John Stockton, Walt Frazier, Dennis Johnson, Lenny Wilkens, and Jason Kidd.Comment

I've loved Paul since his days at WF... always been a huge fan, and his name was rightfully mentioned with the Lebron's and Kobe's at one point in his career.
With that said, Nash is a two time MVP. And this isn't an invitation to say whether or not he deserved the award, we've exhausted that discussion. All that matters is Paul's name has never come up for contention. It is also telling that Nash today is still a good comparison to Paul. He deserves props for that.Comment

But you didn't answer who's better between the two of them.

Re: Steve Nash (Prime) vs Chris Paul
I wouldn't say CP3 needs the ball all the time to be effective, in his days in NOLA especially late in his career he did a good job off the ball to get his open 3s that he started to knock down more and more.
However if he's on your team and you want to win, he needs the ball in his hands.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment
