They probably should have just eliminated Restricted Free Agency all together.

Rarely is anyone happy with the results

Only in the NBA where you can go being one of the dumbest players on the Basketball Court to potentially making up to $10 Mil a year in a span of 4 months.

Honestly, I was thinking that the other day. What is the real point RFA? Seems counter-productive.

In his defense, he looked like a different player in Denver. I actually felt kinda proud watching him in the playoffs and I have no allegiance to the Nuggets or Wizards lol. It was just great seeing a guy that might have been the dumbest player in the league all of a sudden start playing his absolute *** off once he got to a half-decent team.

The Grizz are staying rugged. It's gonna be another 50/50 series come playoff time when they face one of the Clippers, Spurs or Lakers. It's shaping up to be quite a wild wild west even without including the defending conference champs...

Darrell Arthur, still recovering from a torn right Achilles suffered last December, is set to sign a three-year contract worth more than $9 million.

"It's a business and I've been hurt," said Arthur, who missed four months during the 2009-10 season because of surgery to repair a partially torn right pectoral muscle. "But I wanted a two- or three-year contract. I'm happy with what they offered because I wasn't really looking at any other team. I've already established myself in Memphis with the owner, the GM and the coach. All I was thinking about was coming back."

Arthur is on track to be ready for training camp in October.

"Coming off two injuries, you never think you'd get a contract like this. A lot of teams probably wouldn't deal with you," Arthur said. "Memphis has faith in me and I have faith in myself. ... The doctors say I'm ahead of schedule. I'm blessed. I just want to get back on the court and help us win games. We're on the right track."

Ok, so if Denver wants to give him $10 Mil a year then let's make sure George Karl gets at least $6 Mil off the top of that and the remaining going to JaVale.

So apparently Chris Sheridan believes all offer sheets will be matched with the exception of Landry Fields...

Said this months ago. It just forces teams to overpay. As a bidding franchise I know I have to put an offer together that I have to think the original team won't match. Nevermind what's that player actual value.

At least in UFA I can use other tools to try and convince a player other than money.

And the original team never wants to give them an offer upfront because they want the "market to determine their value".

Which offends the players every. single. time.

C.J. Watson was waived by the Bulls last night. Under-the-cap teams can now claim him. If unclaimed, he'll be an unrestricted free agent.

I will say this. DeAndre Jordan is getting that same deal and McGee, stupid as he may be is a much better player than Jordan right now. Neither of them deserve that kind of cash, but it is the going rate for them right now.

Lewis signed with the Heat?... Another shooter?... What happen to the defense? haha But he does add another 6-8, 6-9 hyrib type players to the roster.

Poor CJ. I'm fairly certain that if he doesn't make one unbelievably stupid pass, he probably comes back for this final year.

Among Nets' reasons to push for Dwight finality today, sources say, is fear Blazers will sign RFA Brook Lopez after Indy matched on Hibbert

Following up on @ESPNSteinLine, Rockets are another threat to Nets w/ Lopez offer sheet if Bulls match Asik.

Any offer sheet to Lopez kills Nets ability to do a sign-and-trade. Rockets would have huge incentive to blow up Nets-Magic deal
