Re: NBA Movement Central 2012 (All Transactions 1st Page)

I'm a long time Laker fan and I am pissed. I liked Bynum, sure Dwight is more athletic and is a superior defender, but Bynum was a Laker and working towards becoming more consistant after his first full season with the Lakers, he's bright, hits his FT's, has great touch around the basket, and he was cool, wasn't a clown.

I read this morning in the paper Dwight will sign a 5 year extention after this season via TJ Simmers LA Times.

Then we go to the presser stupid Dwight says how happy and relieved he was. My take finally I can talk finally this shhhh is over. I wasn't buying he was ecstatic to be a Laker at all. He was happy the pressure was off.

Then came a few tougher questions about the extention. Dwight then reverts back to his wishy washy BS today is about the Lakers, just wanna move forward from here. The perfect opportunity to make us feel secure and 100% on board with this dufus and he reverts back to the Orlando BS.

This is a one year rental to me. He sees he's the only young star on the team and I can see the wuss BOLT after this season.

I say the Lakers trade Dwight for Love and put Pau at Center. Love rules !
    Preaching SIM & playing ARCADE ? C'mon son !

Agreed. They can't build through FA because they didn't really clear any cap space. In fact they probably took on more load with Afflalo locked in for 5 years, Harrington 3 years, resigning Jameer for another 3 years, and then you still got Hedo's contract ...

Hennigan is clearly trying to mimic OKC in hoping that they land multiple lottery picks for the next 5 years to come. But if you ask me, I think the Bobcats are a step a head of them (They got Kemba & MKG already, any who knows, they might even land the #1 pick)

But here’s what Hennigan accomplished: The Magic, in effect, got FIVE first-round picks, shed cumbersome contracts of two aging players and obtained a veteran with an expiring deal who can be traded.
This is the team-building exercise that Hennigan learned when he was with the Oklahoma City Thunder — build on draft picks — and it’s why the Magic hired him.
This is what they are trying to say to make it sound like a decently respectable trade I guess.

I won't deny it, ORL got hose... check that, they hosed themselves. This trade just doesn't make sense, even I can admit that.

But it happened fortunately, and I'm definitely glad it did.

Exactly, Harrington contract is worser than JRich contract, they got rid of Duhon, but added 2 years with Affalo, who is a better player, but he was the best player out of this deal for ORL. The only cap space they saved was moving Dwight, and thats not something to boast about. ORL came out last in this trade by giving up the best player, added salary, and protected picks, not a good start for ORL management.

Youre going to hear all kinds of spin

I could post a potential trade they had in the pocket that they rejected but it means nothing

The truth is now theyre trying to save face and thats all there is to it

Talking about OKC, what a freaking joke they are

Problem with that is they got 3 picks from playoff teams and they are protected, which would make it harder to pull off an OKC rebuild. And as great as OKC has been, there model started with POR taking Oden. Does Harrington contract have a team option, didnt see it on hoopshype. The Magic most definitely hosed themselves. People can be mad at LAL, but it wasnt like they were given Dwight, they had to trade the 2nd best center in the league, some would argue the best.

Yeah the argument that Orlando didn't get equal value is 100% on them they could have taken Bynum, Pau, but they didn't want to deal with free agency or the big contracts.

Bynum comes with great risk, immature, balky knees. Im sure LAL was happy to dump him.

Same could be said about Dwight and his back. If I was LA, I would have done the deal, Im just saying it seems like some fans are making it seem like they were gifted Dwight, when they weren't IMO.

I really like Affalo, is he a top shelf G? No, but 15 ppg @ 47% FG is definitely servicable, with the ball in his hands more, he could be a 20 ppg guy. At $7.5 mill per, its not pricey by NBA standards.

So the Chris Paul trade gets vetoed for being unfair yet this one goes through without a hitch?

You realize that it was blocked because New Orleans was under the NBA's control without an owner, right? Non-comparable.

lol, Orlando drafts the 1st pick with a top Center.
After the contract is over, proceeds to trade the number 1 pick to the Lakers,
                              Twice.
