Hawks cut James Anderson and Damion James, can't believe they didn't keep Damion, he is exactly what the Hawks need right now, with Stevenson starting at 2, the 3 will go to a time share of Korver and Morrow, so basically no defense at the SF spot. Damion showed that he was better than Korver on D, although that isn't hard to do.

OKC had that much to offer him eh? Pretty damn good offer. That's what he's worth.

If OKC had that much to offer him now I'd imagine they could sweeten the deal a tad bit more next summer. I don't think this spells anything out for the future.

Edit: Just read that he will most likely become a RFA. If a team offers him a max deal, OKC should just tip their cap and target someone else next summer.

4 years 62 million is the max deal right? Harden is definitely getting that from someone next summer if he wants it.

            My best guess: Orlando

And they'll try to market him like he's some savior.

Yes he definitely will, in fact 3 or more teams will offer him that and he'll be starting of course.

They already have Afflalo. Like it's been reported I think Phoenix, Dallas and Houston will offer him. I think he would be more likely to go to Phoenix than the other two teams.

I think if the Bulls could move Deng, they would make a run at Harden (they would have to amnesty Boozer to do that). It also looks like San Antonio could have the room to sign Harden.

List of other teams that could have the cap room: Atlanta, Charlotte, Cleveland, Detroit, Indiana, Milwaukee, Toronto.

That's a total of 12 teams, even though I think some of them are very unlikely but OKC only needs one of those 12 to offer a max deal. In addition the future of the 2-guard in the NBA looks thin right now.

Would be sad for OKC if Harden made a big deal of this contract, that his beard starts turning gray, and it becomes an issue that hovers over the team.

I think Ibaka is gonna have a BREAKOUT season, though...

As if they'd ever pursue a marquee free agent.

If they don't re-sign Ginobili their at $42 million in contracts next year. Getting Harden would be getting younger in a good way and you would have a Parker/ Harden backcourt for 2 years. I think they would at least consider it.

Yes he is a 23 year old 2-guard coming off a season in which he averaged 17 a game and shot 49% from the field. There is no reason to think that he isn't capable of improving and him/ Eric Gordon are the 2-guards of the future.

There's simply no question. Is he a max player? Of course not. He's still a marquee free agent.

Next summer has the potential to be absolutely dynamite.
