I don't think he would come out and request a trade, but the way things have been going down so far, you never know.

Was reading on RealGM and the Lin deal really is a no brainer if it is the 4 year $30 mil with a team option for the 4th year. Match it. There really is no reason not to.

If he disappoints, ditch him as a $10 million dollar expiring in after his 2nd year. If not, he's worth it. If we want to, can decline the team option after his 3rd year when Melo, STAT, and Chandler all come off the books are start from scratch. Houston threw us a bone here.

Dirk would fit great on the Bulls if he was to ever come out and ask for a trade. Another elite scoring option and his game compliments Noah's.

That's where he should have went when he was a free agent.

Yeah, because it's not like he won a title or anything the year he re-signed, right?

I'm going to explain this as best I can.

While the Spurs are huge historical rivals to be sure, stretching even before the Mike D'Antoni, Seven Seconds or Less, Steve Nash era, this pales in comparison to the rivalry between the Suns and Lakers. While the Spurs and Suns have been rivals since the 1990s, the Lakers and Suns have been rivals for decades.

If you think it only involves recent history, then while everyone remembers Spurs and Suns from 2005, 2007, 2008, and 2010, let's not forget the Lakers and Suns from 2006, 2007, and 2010.

One might think the Lakers and Suns aren't rivals because they have multiple titles while the Suns have none. That's not exactly what defines the rivalry. Besides, let's not forget that while the Suns don't have any titles, they are still (last I checked) a top 5 team winning %-wise in history.

Regional rivals. Divisional rivals. Playoff rivals. Personal rivals. Cultural Rivals.

There couldn't be a starker contrast between the hatred for the Spurs v. the hatred for the Lakers. Not only by me, but by most Suns fans. Just to create an image, if the Suns were the United States, the Spurs would be modern-day Iran, and the Lakers would be the Stalin-led Soviet Union.

If Nash signed with San Antonio, that would have been really hurtful in its own right, for many reasons. Sickening, disgusting, unacceptable.

Steve Nash going to Los Angeles is that, magnified by 1000.

I really don't know how to articulate the difference better for you.

Aldridge confirms what Knicks fans have been saying about our Year 3:
Yeah, that's a deal you take. It's almost like Houston structured it specifically for the Knicks.

I don't think its as far as your making it. Both have met 3 times in the playoffs since 2006. However the Celtics and Heat have both met when they have been serious contenders twice (11, 12) and the Lakers/ Suns have met only once where that is the same ( 2010). The difference between the two is that there is no geographic rivalry between the Celtics and Heat.

Houston can't structured it differently. They are limited in how much they can offer in the 1st two years.

He shouldn't get booed the 1st time. He didn't embarrass a fan base on national TV. He won two MVP's and went to 3 Conference Finals in his time there. It has some of the same elements that a certain guy had when he left a certain town but it isn't the same. Cheer him the 1st time and boo him all you want after that.

                              It will probably be 50-50.

Celtics/Heat isn't even CLOSE to being as big a rivalry as Lakers/Suns. By the time the Miami Heat even started their franchise, the Lakers and Suns had already faced each other five times in the playoffs in the 18 years prior. There's hatred between Boston and Miami, but by and large, the rivalry is as manufactured and hollow as one half of that rivalry is.

This.... People don't realize how much Morey loves Lin. When Lin began to make his mark, Morey talked about how he never wanted to let Lin go, but had to. How whats happening couldn't of happen to a better person.

Morey knew damn well the Knicks were gonna match. The deal is structure so that Lin get's paid & in 3 years can move on if he chooses to.
