Re: NBA Movement Central 2012 (Updates 1st PG)

Hump had no suitors as it was, for reasons nobody knows why. That being said, I don't blame him because the dude did average a dbl/dbl in back to back years and that's still not good enough to get at least a 2 year deal from ANYBODY? Especially one of the best rebounders in the league?

Blame the idiot because if he didn't opt in, then we wouldn't be in this situation right now.

No way do I want the Cavs getting Humphries on a 4 year deal, there's a reason why he isnt getting that many offers. Putting up double-doubles on a bad team does not equal being a good player.

He's far from a bad player if that's what your insinuating.

No way I would sign Humphries to a 4 year deal especially if its in the Ryan Anderson range.

I wouldnt consider him good though either, he a decent PF offensively and can rebound, but his defense is a bad. We are also already set at PF, Id have no problem taking Humphries on a 1 year deal, with the hope we trade him for more assets. Getting him for four years though, makes it harder us to move him IMO, depending on the contract. I just dont want to be stuck with adding a player long term for a possible late draft pick, not worth it IMO.

I wouldn't consider him to be even decent on Offense but as far Rebounding and Defense, he's pretty solid in those categories, which is I'm kinda surprised he hasn't even met with one team since FA started.

In order for Hump to be traded, he would have to sign a 3 year contract, minimum, max of 4 years. It's a part of the CBA S&T.

So let's pump the breaks on "HATE CLEVELAND" here. Not sure if Hump is worth a 3 year deal.

Wouldn't John Lucas be a bit too much. Don't the Heat have Chambers and Cole. Lewis would be another great hyrib player. I mean if Shane can get away with playing the 4-5 positions for the whole playoffs.

But I'm excited about all the moves.

But all this Dwight business... Didn't he hurt his back this past season?

Edit: I think Hump is worth a 3 year deal. I think he is a proven his worth to any team in the last 2-3 season. He's a hustling beast on the floor. I find it sad that doesn't have long term contract yet.

I don't know. No knock on Tristan but I feel like Humpries can start on the Cavs. He's decent, plays good rotational defense, and knows where he needs to be to get that offensive rebound. Plus, this gives Tristan more time to develop since he'd likely be splitting time with Humpries getting 20-22 minutes per game than being a regular backup getting 10-12 minutes per game.

You could say that, but Humphries could come in, act like a ***, ruin the locker room and ruin the growth of Thompson. And I'm not sure if he is all that much, if at all, better than Tristan Thompson can be next year.

The Cavs aren't in this because they love Humphries. They are in it to snag a pick/young player. So taking on a player they don't want who could potentially be here for 3 years is a risk. And they have to think about that risk compared to the reward.

So, again, let's pump the breaks on hating Cleveland. This is a tough decision for them.

Thing is Zeller, Andy, and Tristan need to get their minutes. Both TT and Andy are interchangeable at PF/C depending on matchup, plus we have Kevin Jones and Harangody. Id rather give those guys minutes than Humphries. In terms of skills, I think both Humphries and Thompson are similar, but Thompson is a better shot blocker and help defender, while Humphries is more polished offensively, but Thompson has more potential.

He's not that kind of player, let's not sell him THAT short now to think he's just going to be some sort of cancer to the team.

So Dan Gilbert's willing to help move Dwight to the Nets as long as he gets his man Kris Humphries-Kardashian? The guy who didn't want CP3 in L.A. Brooklyn's more of an obstacle to CLE than the lakers are. I don't get it. Another thing I don't get is why ORL traded Ryan Anderson. They're already bracing themselves i guess.
