It's not the worst deal in the world, but I don't think it's a deal Orlando should be in a rush to accept. And at some point, Dwight is going to have to be open to going to other teams, since he can't sign with the Nets outright. Once that happens, better deals may become available.

Is he not?
No reason to not want what's best for the team and not be complacent and just accept this is all that's allowed because its the Los Angeles Lakers. We have a trading chip that's well worth a Dwight swap, more so than any other package we've heard proposed.
Either way we have Dwight or Drew, grateful to have either guy, Dwight would be ideal.

The anti Laker comments are pretty upsetting and nonsensical throughout this thread. We got Nash, wed be happy with Drew, but Dwights a better fit, especially now.

People saying they can get a better deal, can't you say the same thing about Phoenix dealing Nash to the Lakers or the Hawks trading Joe Johnson?
FWIW, it was reported last week that the Nets were willing to walk away from this whole thing but that Orlando called King back to start back up talks, not the other way around. So if he can find a better deal, then there's really no point to call us back, right?#RespectTheCultureComment

Same as the pro lakers comments...
Dwight doesnt want LA thats obvious, lets not start making imaginary conversations because he chose someone else, when talking about some other teams tradesComment

Pack, I think there was more than a fairshare of people saying PHX could have got a better deal and same with Joe Johnson...
But you're right, it really sucks to be in Orlando's situation right now... they're stuckComment

Re: NBA Movement Central 2012 (Updates 1st PG)
How do you know he doesn't want to be in LA? Why did he state two years ago that he wanted to play with Kobe? What about this year that he wanted Steve Nash traded to the Magic. What if he wants to be in LA? No one knows but him. So you can't say that he doesn't want to be LA.Last edited by FloydNDLAL; 07-09-2012, 01:57 PM.Comment

Re: NBA Movement Central 2012 (Updates 1st PG)
If Orlando didn't want all that money tied up into crappy players, they should have thought ahead.
Hell, even when the Cavs were all in with LeBron, they had the foresight to schedule massive amounts of money to come off the books at the same time. Smith was just a moron for taking on so many bad contracts.
If someone is willing to take on J-Rich, Hedo, and Nelson while giving up a kings ransom for Dwight, I'm sure the Magic are all ears. But I wouldn't hold my breath.
The Nets are the best option for the Magic to get both assets and cap relief at the same time. It's the best solution to the idiocy of Otis Smith.Too Old To Game Club

So we have two days left of free agency and the Mavs have agreed to terms with a whopping ZERO players so far.

Re: NBA Movement Central 2012 (Updates 1st PG)
Nash was a sign and trade, so maybe? He was a free agent at that point and therefore could have gone anywhere. They did Nash the favor of sending him where he wanted to go. Perhaps you could say that, but Phoenix didn't take on any cap and grabbed two firsts and two seconds. If Phoenix didn't trade Nash they lost him for nothing already, and those picks were valuable assets to LA as they have no picks to trade for four years now, for a team with few assetsn

When was the last time LA actually used picks to contend or gain ground?
They always either make trades or somehow gets someone to come hereComment

As for the 2nd part, I don't know who reported that, and who knows what's really going on, but everything I've read makes it sound like the Nets are driving this.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment
