So you wouldn't take Horford and Teague? I know that offer never gained as much steam but I still think it was the best offer but I am biased.

It wasn't terrible at all, but being the seventh seed in the east for a few years wouldn't have gotten us anywhere.

So its the Lakers fault for these other teams pulling the trigger on these ****ty trades ? I know everyone isn't implying that, but it seems some have mis guided anger.

I agree the trade doesn't make sense at all for Orlando, but I won't be any less excited as a Lakers fan.

The Lakers really have caught some breaks over the years, with these trades. Kobe has been fortunate enough to play with some great athletes over the years, but who, that has multiple championships, hasn't had a good supporting cast ?

I'm excited about Dwight, but not excited about him saying a few weeks ago, that he didn't want to sign a new contract. I hope all that gets straightened out.

I don't know, Magic would still have some cap space, and a pick or two from the Hawks, low playoff seed is easier to draw in quality players than several seasons of losing records, of course high picks can change that so maybe that's an advantage to the rockets offer since they would have also gotten Kevin Martin.

I'm not really mad at the lakers, this kind of thing is engrained in their DNA, they just get good trades, I am mad that Dwight is on TV right now saying he can't believe he's a laker but a month ago everyone was saying he would only play for the Nets. All it does is bring drama and bugs fans who were hoping the CBA would change things and even the league out in some way.

Same here, I don't know how L.A keep doing these deals and everything else. Hope they get him to stay because if not.....D12 will never live it down.

I guess we'll see what happens.

The deal worked for 3 of the 4 teams. The Lakers did give up Bynum to get Howard, so they didn't give up Kwame Brown and a retired Aaron McKie. It's just that Bynum went somewhere other than Orlando.

I don't think this makes LA a lock for the Finals because there are other teams in the West that have players capable of driving the lane and getting Dwight in foul trouble. In his last 4 healthy seasons, Dwight has been in the top 8 in fouls committed.

But Kash, why is Salim Stoudamire in your avatar lol?

Sucks how all the other big markets are better while the Bulls got worse. Damn you Jerry Reinsdorf lol, but seriously hopefully Thibs can make this team competitive without Rose (which I think will happen), and then Rose has a successful recovery and comes back with some time left in the regular season. Then we can go into the playoffs with a 5 seed with our starting 5 and an more offensive minded bench.

That or we don't make the playoffs and get lucky with the lottery.

Get ready to see plenty of empty seats and cheap ticket prices in that brand spankin' new arena. Especially with the fact that no wants to play there. I just wish they would have traded him to Sebria or something. No, instead they trade the second or third best player in the NBA to an already quality Lakers team for virtually nothing.

Edit: Yes, I'm extremely bitter. Not because the Lakers received Dwight or that Orlando decided to trade him there. I'm actually bitter because they accepted so little in return and still shipped him to a premiere location. If you're going to move the guy for nothing then dump him on **** team or for quality prospects - like Utah got for Deron Williams - instead of shipping him to a desired location for virtually nothing. No wonder these GMs have no spines and this is a players' league. Pathetic........

Lot of good a new arena and crappy team will do for you. I bet people are just lining up to see Moe Harkless, Arron Afflalo, Hedo Turkgolu and Nikola Vuvecic play. I noticed I probably mispelled a lot of there names, I'm ok with that, that's essentially the level of relevance they have.

Apparently the Magic are getting a trade exception out of it:

Josh Robbins ‏<s>@</s>JoshuaBRobbins The <s>#</s>Magic received a $17.8 million traded player exception in the deal, Hennigan said. Magic will have 1 year to use it.

So getting two young wing players, a young big, a veteran that can contribute for a year and then be bought out, three first round picks and a 17.8 million dollar trade exception is giving him away for nothing? Okay.

I get that none of those guys are "supahstahs" or whatever, but the dude was leaving anyway. Giving him away for nothing would have been letting him walk at the end of the year. Taking this trade was the complete opposite.

EDIT- I read that in Weird Al's voice, actually.
