I would say it was a worthwhile signing.

He got signed for the minimum.. only real worry is his attitude but I doubt Deron Williams, Gerald Wallace and Joe Johnson are going to let Blatche ruin the team chemistry

I swear..the day after the Nets moved they could do no wrong. Maxing out Lopez, $12M/yr for Hump..trading for JJ.

      It is so annoying.
Why are you listing Hump? He's signed for 2 years at 12M per, that's not a bad deal considering what he brings to the table and the going rate for guys at his position/size.

For the minimum it actually could be a steal. Just don't put up with his crap and cut him if he pouts. When he wants to focus he can do some damage.

It's a low risk signing. That is all. I'm talking about people saying it was a great acquisition in terms of wins/losses.

And what chemistry is this you speak of.

Was there even one other offer out there for him? They bid against themselves.

Not sure who you're comparing him to as far as salaries go.

I just meant the locker room in general.

I don't know who has more of the problem here, the ones saying it's a great signing or the ones who take what they say seriously

I don't know, I get that Hump isn't exactly a terrible player but 12 each for 2 is still pretty high. End of the day considering BK is over the cap it was the best signing for them in that stretch, but that's still a hefty price tag on Hump. Doesn't really matter for BK though as they've got endless funding and a two year deal isn't going to do any long term damage.

Re: NBA Movement Central 2012 (All Transactions 1st Page)

I hate him because I've seen for 7 years what he's capable of and would've rather passed on him and get someone else that can play Defense, which is what we need more than Offense. Good thing is that he still has to make the team(which he's not guaranteed to)and if he somehow makes it and he slips up one time, he's gone. So really there's no risk involved because his contract is non guaranteed.

Bad thing is that even though he'll be the 14/15th guy on the bench, he'll be like 8/9th since they might assign him at the backup for Brook, which is what we REALLY need and he is not a backup C by any means.

Was there even one other offer out there for him? They bid against themselves.
Charlotte was reportedly out there ready to give him an offer(heard it was 3 years, $22 Mil and the Nets were ready to give him 3 years, $24 Mil. They were the only team AFAIK.

If Hump averges a double double those two years he's signed i'm ok with it. If his production drops off because he got the money, i'll then be kinda pissed.

As for Baltche. Meh. Guy is a headcase and is basically just another big body for us for now. Perhaps like the other two knuckleheads that left DC maybe a change of scenery = a change of mentality. I just don't want him falling in love with his jumper when he's on the court.

I knew there was no chance SA would take a flyer on Blatche. They still refuse to address the frontcourt. Blatche may be a cancer but what's the last time you heard San Antonio's lockerroom getting rattled from some BS like that? Really hoped he'd be in the silver and black.

Brooklyn Nets have signed Josh Childress.
