Why would you hope he doesn't make it? Kid is a hard worker, and another big body. Don't understand that comment.

Because I'd rather that spot go to Hamilton/Gladness. Not saying he isn't a solid player, I'd just rather have different.

I figured you weren't saying dude was a bad person....
I don't care if Matt Bonner rescues elementary kids from a burning building, I'd take a solid big in his place in an instant
BTW Hamilton is overseas and Gladness is signed isn't he?Last edited by The 24th Letter; 09-17-2012, 08:46 PM.Comment

Gladness, Harrellson and Varnado all will be competing for the third-string center spot.
I don't think the team needs more 3-point shooters, If Harrellson were to make the team he'd have to become more physical, grab more rebounds and play under the rim.death to mollyComment

I think it's a pretty good bet that Josh Howard signs with the Spurs."Ma'am I don't make the rules up. I just think them up and write em down". - Cartman

Re: NBA Movement Central 2012 (All Transactions 1st Page)
From ProBasketballTalk:
Both Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett did something for their teams this summer — the veteran superstars took huge pay cuts on new deals, making less than half of what they did before, to give the franchises some financial flexibility (and less of a tax burden).
But both got something in return — no trade clauses.
Mark Deeks, the man behind the fantastic Sham Sports (which has the best NBA contract info out there) reports on twitter that both Duncan and Garnett got full no-trade clauses in their new deals.
They join Kobe Bryant and Dirk Nowitzki as the only four guys with such clauses.
Of course, those guys are four franchise icons that their respective teams would likely never trade… but you should never say never so the players like the insurance.
Both Garnett and Duncan signed three-year contracts. They likely are the last NBA contracts for both players.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: NBA Movement Central 2012 (All Transactions 1st Page)
Howard impressed the Jazz coaching staff last season and formed a good working relationship with head coach Tyrone Corbin. He played 43 games for Utah after being traded from the Washington Wizards, and averaged 8.7 points and 3.7 rebounds in 23 minutes of action per game. Josh is still without a team for next season, and worked out for the San Antonio Spurs a few days ago, but the Jazz are reported to be nearing a deal to bring him back.
The Salt Lake Tribune has reported that the Jazz and Howard have reached a mutual agreement, hinting that he may very well return to the Salt Lake City next season.
“There’s mutual interest between Howard and Utah. He exceeded expectations during the 2011-12 campaign, is highly respected by management and coach Tyrone Corbin, and Howard spent part of his offseason working out with former Jazz teammates in Santa Barbara, Calif,” reported the Tribune.
The Jazz have Gordon Hayward to start at three next season, and Marvin Williams and DeMarre Carroll to back him up. However, they still feel that Howard, with his experience, can benefit the Jazz roster. It will be interesting to see how this situation works out, especially if Howard gets an offer from San Antonio.San Antonio Spurs 5 - Time ('99, '03, '05, '07, '14) NBA Champions

Darko has been freed!!! Milicic joins the Celtics on a one-year vet minimum deal. Like this signing...no risk, and provides depth. Yeah, he's a bust for where he was drafted, but that doesn't matter now. I think there's some talent in that body of his, and he'll be in a good environment...STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

I'm all for the C's adding more size. Just hope KG doesn't break him physically or mentally during practice.Comment

Re: NBA Movement Central 2012 (All Transactions 1st Page)
If KG can mentor Darko to be an even better interior rebounder and paint patroller, Boston just did themselves so damn good this summer. I've liked Darko the past few years, I like his spirit. Even with losing someone like Ray Allen, I really think they are a better team. Though a year older adding JET really minimized Ray's departure. Miami and Boston should be a great watch should they meet in the post season.Comment

Its fun to make fun of Darko but he's actually turned into a pretty solid player. We should really be making fun of the Pistons for taking him so high.NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers
