Re: NBA Movement Central 2012 (All Transactions 1st Page)
How haven't they improved? They lost Ray, Pietrus and Dooling but replaced them with like three different veteran guards [Terry, Lee, Barbosa] who can all do versatile things and are all overall better players. Not to mention they get Jeff Green back and a more experienced Bradley. They've improved but the question is will it be enough?
Their inside game is fine defensively and on the boards [with KG, Darko, Bass, Sullinger, Collins], it's about as good as you can ask for. Offensively.. it's OK because they still have KG and PP/Green who can go down there at times. You don't have to have guys who thrive inside offensively to get a ring these days.Comment

Re: NBA Movement Central 2012 (All Transactions 1st Page)
Jeff Green has been a beast in the preseason. And he can play multiple positions.
My strategy would be to get KG into foul trouble. I don't think Sullinger is ready to play big minutes. Fab looks like a borderline D-Leaguer. Bass is undersized.
I'd attack them down low.
But they are scary. Their #1-9 are tough.Comment

Yeah Doc does have a lot to manage but that's a good problem to have and he did it in 2008. Also these are all veteran, unselfish players for the most part. If there's one point guard you want to keep everyone happy it's Rondo-- he will most likely keep everyone happy with his creativity and distribution.
Darko and Bass will have to carry the load defensively but I don't see too many situations in the playoffs where it kills them. Outside of Hibbert, maybe Andrew Bynum, Amare maybe... nobody should scare them inside during the post season.Comment

A lot of talent on paper. I don't know though, still have them behind Miami and still feel like Indiana might be better.
The reason they could end up being a little bit worse rather than better is that it's another year older for KG and Pierce. I know Pierce was nicked up last year in the playoffs, but he REALLY slowed down. I feel like they'll run out of gas in the post-season, but who knows.
Realistically who are we looking at as far as playoff teams go in the East?
I feel like the teams that would be surprising if they miss out are:
Heat, Celtics, Knicks, Pacers, Nets
Probably pretty safe but still some questions:
Bulls & 76ers
And then the last spot comes down to:
Bucks, Pistons, who else?NFL: Bills
NBA: Bucks
MLB: Cubs
NCAA: Syracuse
Soccer: USMNT/DC United

I think Avery Bradley can lock up Wade...especially if we see the 2011 Wade.
LeBron gets his and Bosh/KG and Allen/Pierce offset each other.
Miami has no answer for Rondo. And his jumpshot looks much improved.Comment

People forget that Sullinger is a Top-10 talent in the Draft, and that he only fell because of injury. He is the X-factor and if he pans out to that status, I would pick the C's over the Heat.Canucks | Packers | Blue Jays | Lakers | Raptors

I was a fan of the pick when they made it, and I still think he was a good value in the 20s, but he's not the answer. He could be starting by the end of the year, but that isn't a good thing.NFL: Bills

If they're healthy, I think they have enough punch to beat Miami. That's a big IF with KG and Pierce.

As a die-hard Celtics fan, I can honestly say this is the first year I've been excited to watch them since 2008. I think Ray became a negative influence on this team. Rondo has now been given the reigns, and what's not being talked about is his MUCH improved jump shot...he's an MVP candidate. This team is MUCH better than the last couple-three years: improved bench, and Barbosa's arrival only enhances this team. What Danny Ainge has been able to do, taking an aging team and infusing them with youth, all the while staying cap-compliant, is bordering miraculous. He's my pick for GM of the year... This team is gonna be FUN to watch!STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

I think Sully is one of the steals probably the steal along with Perry Jones and I'd add Drummond to that list. I see a lot of Kevin Love in Jared's game. Not saying he'll be that good but there are a ton of similarities. You looking at the Chair MAN!
