    sounds like the afc north!

Realignment is a great idea, but someties you can loose great rivalries, and even worse, make the playoff teams even weaker.

three division winners get top 3 seeds in playoffs...
homecourt goes to team with best record in conference...
      so...

even if you win one division...there may be a squad who has a better record than you and is in second place in another...

they get homecourt cause their record is better than yours

That's just in the first round. All the rounds after that are based on your team record.

Except for the fact that Memphis is still in the west the NBA did a pretty good job with the re-alignment. In my opinion Milwaukee should have been moved to the west and Memphis put in it's place in the east.

Its easier to move a "Newer" team.

                  No rivalries.

Re: New division re-alignment has been approved

This is sad; one of the few good teams in the East will now be an 8th seed at best in the west in New Orleans. Guess it's Detroit and Indiana next year as the last dominant teams contending for the Eastern Conference Championship.

Why?? Memphis is farther west than Milwaukee is. Now you have the Central Division with Indiana, Chicago, Detriot, Cleveland and Milwaukee. Milwaukee makes alot more sense in that division than Memphis does.
