Mills is a beast for Australia. I really like his game. He can really pressure the ball defensively and is a knock down shooter. That game winner he hit against Russia was great. Australia has a pretty nice team. That Ingles guy is pretty solid too. Australia surprised me against Russia. Russia looked like the better team the entire game yet Australia was right there the whole way and won it in the end. Good luck.

Re: Team USA Men's Olympic Basketball 2012
Yeah I think was our version of a perfect game as Russia are overall the better team and would probably beat us 8 or 9 times out of 10 but our outside shooting was on and that's pretty much the only way we can keep up with the big boys.
Mills has been awesome and is currently tied with Pau as leading scorer in the games but I've been very surprised by Ingles myself. I think he's been our 2nd leading scorer so far in the games when I was certain it would be Andersen and Newley (was drafted by the Rockets a few years ago but plays in Spain).
I wish we had Bogut but they have done themselves proud beating Russia I think. I don't get to see the US games other than highlights because our coverage mainly follows Aussie events so it awesome I'll get to see a full game of team USA now with us matching up. Good luck to you guys as well, I hope it's at least close by I doubt it will be for too long.Comment

Re: Team USA Men's Olympic Basketball 2012
Argentina is an abomination and their pathetic flopping caught up to them. I hope Brazil hammers them but if not, we will beat them by 30-40 in the semifinals since they are a bunch of cheap shotting thugs.Comment

Re: Team USA Men's Olympic Basketball 2012
I just watch the last night. Talk about coming out of halftime. I just like how the USA team came out and decided that they weren't going to shoot any 3's. Even Kobe who had a turnover on a out of control play. Was hell bent on driving the ball to the rim.

Re: Team USA Men's Olympic Basketball 2012
Thanks Dre
I expect Russia, Spain, Brazil and the USA to make the final four. It's going to be an awesome medal round
It's a shame Argentina is so long in the tooth. If they had just a few more dependable rotational players they would have the edge to me against Brazil. Unfortunately they operate with a very short rotation and their best players are a little aged. I have to give the slight edge to Brazil.Comment

do you know if they will show the game on free-to-air TV tomorrow? If so, which channel?
the only thing I know is that the game starts at 7:15AM (Sydney time).

I believe they will show it. But expect them to cut away every 5 mins to show some BS equestrian event or something else whenever there is the possibility of a medal.Comment

Re: Team USA Men's Olympic Basketball 2012
I mean seriously channel 9 need to get their act together
The game starts at 10:15PM over there, and it is the ONLY live Olympic game that is occurring during that time. They have the whole day to show replays of other sports ...
I hope they only cut away for a few mins during time outs & half time.Comment

Re: Team USA Men's Olympic Basketball 2012
It's amazing for me to see Timofey Mozgov excel in international ball. I wish he was still a Knick.
I also wish some of these int'l coaches were coaching in the NBA.
Back door cuts, picks, screens, ball movement, midrange game, etc. So much more open style of play. It's fun to watch.Comment

Re: Team USA Men's Olympic Basketball 2012
Its a pipe dream bigeast...
Thats what the NBA used to be
Its the system moreso than just the coaches...
I mean some of these guys dont have much of a clue, but at the same time you have a system set up in place for certain things to happen, superstar calls, rewarding perimeter iso, an ungodly amount of 3 pointers, etc..Comment
