Now theres what the Knicks need, another PF trying to play center. [/sarcasm]
How about...
Brent Barry and Jerome James
for
Charlie Ward, Othella Harrington, and Slavko Vranes
It works under salary cap restrictions too, you guys can check if you want. The only condition is that the trade would have to go down after December 15 because of Vranes contract.

wait a minute layden...we need ward for the davis deal lets talk...

I'll explain why this deal would work for both sides...
Seattle
-------
The emergence of Ronald Murray has made two players expendable: Brent Barry and Antonio Daniels. Seattle is also in a logjam at center because of all those mediocre guys they kept giving large contracts to. They can bring in Ward as a sure PG that can fight for minutes with Ridnour. Harrington can play those valuable PF minutes for the rest of the season while Collison is still out. Vranes is just a throw-in, and I dont know what kind of player he is, but if hes another Drobnjak, Seattle has worked out a good deal.
New York
--------
This whole PG by committee thing with Ward and Eisley needs to stop. The Knicks will get just what they wanted out of this deal, a backup SG (with starter quality, no doubt) who can also take up PG minutes in Ward's absence and they can always give more PT to Frank Williams. They also get to unload one of their "taking up space on the bench" PF's and get back a defensive presence in the middle who can take over upon Mutombo's departure.

but im still left with weatherspoon thomas mutombo doleac
i want all them off this team...we could work out better deals

Theres no "miracle trade" that is gonna help the Knicks. The hole that is dug with so many unneeded long, large guaranteed contracts, especially Houston, is going to be a burden on the team for several years. Small steps need to be taken to at least ensure the Knicks can be a winning organization, because I know how important it is to the Knicks that they cant afford to tank a season. All I'm serving up is a stellar athlete in Barry who can slash and play above the rim as well as shoot the long ball with some handles when theyre needed. James is a good presence in the middle defensively and a legit center.
