I hate to break it to you

The lakers have no answer for OKC's best players. At least the thunder have Perkins to stop Dwight from destroying the paint. The lakers have absolutely no one to stop the back court. Everyone thinks that Howard will cover up nash kobe and artest's defensive set backs.

Go look up the box scores of Magic vs Thunder from 2012. KD dropped 40 one game, russell dropped 30 and 10, james did his thing, etc etc. Howard being on the floor won't do slow down nothing OKC wants to do.

Everyone is trying to crown them out of the west already. The fact of the matter is the Lakers front office added Steve nash, who's a good point guard. The flipside is that his defense is horrible, he's almost 40 and he's guarding westbrook who already ate the lakers for breakfast lunch and dinner in May. KD is gonna be KD. Ron artest isn't enough to slow him down. Especially in 2013.

OKC has the lakers beat defensively, offensively, and I'd even take Scott Brooks over Mike Brown. Oh you got the prinston offense huh. What about that prinston defense? Who's going to slow down OKC?

and the bench? Antawn OLDison and Jodie meeks? OKC will have Maynor and cook in their regular roles. OKC bench runs the score up like a starting 5 when they are all healthy. It won't even be close.

Can't wait till next May. Lakers bandwagon needed this topic.

It's really just a matter of perspective here. The Lakers have a better offense. 4/5 Starters can create their own shots, and finish plays that their team sets up. Ibaka, Perkins, and Thabo cannot do such a thing. The Lakers now have the most dynamic, and powerful offense in the NBA.

Defensively, it's not a huge difference. Pau, and Dwight can definitely lock down the paint, while Kobe and World-Peace can do a good job on the perimeter.

On the other hand, the Thunder's entire starting 5 are pretty great defenders. If the Lakers slow the game down, and turn it in to a half-court battle, they will probably win.

The Thunder's chance at winning this lies within their speed advantage and exceptional defense. It the Lakers keep the tempo beneath the Thunder's favorable threshold, they can certainly win the West.

Don't sleep on the Clippers just yet, either.
