Honestly, the only reason I see him get considered for all these jobs is mainly because of his association with Phil.

He was there when Phil won as a player, was on the sideline with Phil when he won as an Assistant Coach so then the perception, "Oh, he's a great Assistant and since he has 3-5 rings as a player and coach combined, he'll be a great Coach".

And I'm not knocking people for throwing his name out but I was genuienly curious as to how his name always kept popping up every time there was a Coaching opening. Like I don't know exactly what it is he was responsible for or what exactly is his strength in Coaching.

I'm throwing his name out there for the Lakers. And the Lakers only because I think it makes sense considering the system and some (read: one) particular player.

Just like Avery Johnson made sense in Dallas at the time he coached that team.

Just like Thibs, I think Shaw definitely deserves a shot. You'll never know what he can really do until he gets his opportunity. Did anyone firmly believe Thibs would transcend the Bulls to 60 win status in one season? I know I sure didn't.

Plus at the time, Shaw had earned great respect in that locker room. At least enough to be given a chance.
This and I'm not a fan of Brain Shaw. However as a coach gaining the respect of the players is probably 25% of the job. The others being gameplaning, in game adjustments, and player development. Which is more than you can say for Brown who had already proven he's a bad head coach.
