    Re: Sean John Jersey\'s !?

It's really all about the MONEY! Marc Cuban is one HELL of a businessman...If HE can see the potential in this deal then I'm sure as hell buying it. Even though P-Diddy is a rapper (which is negative all by itself to some of you) he still owns a sucessful record label, a VERY VERY successful clothing line and a whole SLEW of other profitable businesses. It's obvious that he IS in touch with what the people want and it's making him a BILLIONAIRE! Hell he's even working with lincoln to put out a Sean John NAVIGATOR...I don't know...I smell...(snif-snif) HATERATION and it's real FUNKY IN HERE!

    Peace

      Re: Sean John Jersey\'s !?

Sean Combs is a very good business man, he has the great ability to look into the future and see what will sell.

However, I'm one of those that is tired of everything being sold in sports. Arena names are sold, halftime shows are sold, the "players of the half" are sold, in some arenas, the steps of the arena are sold. Where do we draw the line?? Now we are going to have the last thing that isn't sold out (reebok makes them, but they don't have a huge Reebok logo on them). Then again, this is the same league that sent players to Barcelona and they wore the flag across the Reebok symbol because some had contracts with Nike.

Again, I'm old school, so I know I'm in the minority, but those are my two cents. It is why I've always liked the Knicks. They haven't sold out yet!

I thought he was just designing the jerseys and then Cuban was going to take it to Reebok to have them made. Either Reebok or Nike, cause they are the offical producers of NBA jerseys.

Good point. I guess I should say that this evolution of jerseys with the "alternative" designs to sell the jerseys and whatnot. That is what irks this old-school guy. Take the Celtics and Knicks jerseys, they have barely changed in the last 50 years. The Knicks added a little black in theirs and I don't think the Celtics have changed at all. The Bulls changed their lettering that is it. Having those jerseys build tradition. You can't tell me that the Knicks and Celtic players don't feel that tradition when that basically put on the same jersey as Cousey, Frazier, Bird, and Ewing wore. I like that, that is my preference.

Then you have the Raptors who have been around 10 years and have had I think 3-4 different jerseys. The Lakers have gone to white jerseys for what reason?? When did Magic and Chamberlin wear white?

I am all for changing a logo and jersey when time has really passed it by (Cavs are a perfect example), but can they leave one thing constant for these teams to build tradition?? It isn't by "accident" that those teams that have this "tradition" can have top 5-8 attendance even when they are horrible.

Just my 2 cents, I could be wrong!

How do you know that they are going to have the sean john logo on it? All he's doing is making a jersey.
