When Brown was coach, LA didn't play anyone great except the Clippers. To this point, they've only played the Spurs without Brown, everyone else has just been average or worse. The competition level is a moot point in this discussion.

I don't like Mike Brown but what I'm gonna say might give him a pass.

We probably shouldn't underrate emotions. It's very probable the team needed a new voice and is playing better simply from knowing they are doing something exciting (to them personally).

And maybe I take it back. That's a huge slight on Mike Brown. That bum.

thats the real question, dont you think?

sure they will be more entertaining during the regular season and it will actually be enjoyable to watch their games again offensively.

but i need to see it happen in the playoffs not the regular season. i already know they will ball out in the reg season.

i dont care how many points they are putting up now, because im still trying to figure out how they beat the clippers, the thunder or the heat in the playoffs by playing at this pace.

im not stressing over it right now cause its along ways off, but i need to see mike.d earn his stripes in the playoffs. i know folks are happier about the flow. but this team to me still has a lot to prove

only thing this hire has proven good for so far is for bringing sexy back, everything else remains to be seen. cant say it enuf but i got real reservation about this team playing this style in the playoffs.

Are you not seeing them play and how they're progressing? Have you considered that season play reflects how they play in offseason? Have you considered that you need to play sufficiently in order to even get in the playoffs? So yes, season games entirely matter. If they do bad in the season do you expect them to do good in the playoffs? Doesn't work that way.

Of course there are people who have the stigma following them that they allegedly don't show up in the playoffs (aka Dwight). But Dwight is on a better team now and he's working to be at 110% come playoff time.

The way they are playing as of now is one of the factors as to how they will beat teams like Heat/Clippers/Thunder/etc.

And obviously this team has ways to go. The season is still young and they still have areas to work on. Naturally teams improve, not the other way around. So they will gradually get better as the season progresses. I think this team has a legitimate shot if everyone stays healthy.

As for MWP, why is that a problem? Sure he's a streaky, variable shooter. But it's not like he'll always get the ball and always shoot. He hits the perimeter shot sometimes and misses sometimes. I don't see a big problem with MWP having the spotlight. He has sufficient defense so he's still an asset to the team.

So yeah, stop being so pensive and looking for the negatives in things and have faith. It's working out alright so far isn't it? I honestly don't get fans like you. Almost like you have no hope in your supposed team.

No because I'd rather he tell people that then lie to us and say he'll turn MWP back into the DPOY he was in Indiana and Houston.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion no matter if they are a fan or not. I am still skeptical about LA's chances once the playoffs come but I am encouraged by the last week or so. It's night and day, it seems like they get each other all of a sudden, smh.

There are still many question marks about the new coach, the depth and the defense. Those are fair things to point out, nothing wrong with questioning things. Just because you point those things out doesn't mean you're being negative or have no faith.

Obviously there will always be skeptics to playoff performance. That goes for almost every team, not just the Lakers. The playoffs is the ultimate test. There's always going to be pressure on teams.

I'm telling him to have faith because it comes off as him being completely discouraged. He also made quite a lot of points that more or less mean "season performances don't matter." That's either moot or false.

Honestly I think it's a little too early as I've pointed out to be bringing up things like this. We're like 10-11 games in and the entire season consists of 82+ games. Come on now. That's just unnecessary conspiracy. We have to see how we do in the season first and foremost before we consider anything like that.

I do not see the problem with this particular offense and system.

The only remaining question marks for me is age, depth, and (possibly) defense. But again I'm not jumping the gun about these things just yet because we're just now entering the threshold of the season.

I'm going to wait before I think about any of that. It's far too early to make an immature judgement like that. For the meantime I'm going to have faith in this team and hope they grow and develop as the season progresses.

I've yet to see any significant problems. So I'm simply not going to try to. What I'm going to do is sit back and enjoy the season and hope for the best. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

                      I disagree.

Portland, Utah, Dallas are better teams than Sacramento, Phoenix and Houston at this point in my opinion, especially Dallas.

True. But are you not seeing any visual differences in the way they're playing? Under Mike Brown they looked slow and disoriented.

Now they're playing faster, winning games, and even averaging around 100+ points. You can't say the same for Brown. I simply feel as though the Princeton Offense and Mike Brown coaching was not a good fit for this Lakers team.

Sure the decision was a bit sudden. But right now it is indeed looking more or less justified.

thats cool and like i said i will enjoy the season also.

so i can see some potential problems right now with this team playing this style in a 7 game series against certain teams. doesnt mean those concerns will surface or play out doesnt doesnt mean that they wont. this is what the regular season is about for me, for me personally to see if during the seaon mike.d shows me some potential solutions to some problems i see going foward.

Portland Utah and Dallas are all average or below teams, like I said. Dallas started Eddy Curry at center and didn't have Dirk.

You're putting way too much emphasis on opponents. All six of those teams are average or below, none of them except for Dallas may make the playoffs.
