Knicks need another star?

Everyone says you need another 2-3 stars to win a title nowadays. I looked at the Knicks, i think everyone can agree Amar'e and Melo can not play together. Do the Knicks need another star to compete with Miami? Melo is really the only star

You don't necessarily have to have 2 or 3 stars to win.. When your supporting cast is as bad as Miamis was last year you do, but teams like Dallas and Detroit have proved that you can win without multiple "stars"..

That being said I think it's still undetermined whether Amar'e and Melo can play together or not. It's not that they didn't work out last year, the whole system/team didn't work out last year.. Give it a chance before you rule it out completely.. I mean they were arguably playing their best ball when Amar'e and Melo were out with Linsanity running the show.

The Knicks have plenty of talent on the squad as it is. They have a veteran PG who is without question one of the all time greats, and they have one of the very few good big men in the league.

I don't think their problem is needing more stars what they need is for their star they already have to be more team oriented, devote himself more to defense, and not shoot the team out of playoff games.

Amare might be productive with the second unit when he returns or they will figure out how to let him be productive in the post and Melo still gets his green light.

They might need a entire season to gel w/ this unit after Shumpert and STAT get back though.

When shumpert and stat come back the Knicks will be a VERY formidable team especially if stat is willing to come off the bench, cause you'd have a defensive dominant starting five that includes a GREAT scorer, and a very talented bench that includes not one but two scorers (stat and smith) a veteran pg (kidd) an a veteran big who will play d, rebound, and score (Wallace)

2 of there starters are out with injuries. I dont think they have had any type of time to really build chemistry. If Stat comes back healthy, I think he makes the team better.

Hopefully the defense is contagious.

They need roll players that are good at what they're asked to do.

I think they have that now, tbh.

Brewer - play hard defensively and knock down the occasional shot. check
Kidd - be a coach on the court, encourage ball movement, and shoot open 3s. check
J.R. - Be the focal point of the second unit and do what you do best, score. check
Novak - drain 3s like it's your job, because it is. check
Sheed - be a low post presence, grab rebounds, and talk ****. check

And when Shump comes back, we'll have another.
