My man Amare comes back last night with the vintage defense. Straight matador style. One thing that I appreciate is Woodson ripping into him. Keep that dude accountable.

Unfortunately, a tiger cannot change his stripes. Amare is just terrible defensively. He doesn't get it mentally and that translates to some of the poorest defensive footwork and rotations I've ever seen from a player. He's the true definition of a defensive liabilty.

Hopefully he just plays with the second unit from here on out.

LOS ANGELES -- Following the Los Angeles Lakers' 103-99 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on New Year's Day, Kobe Bryant had a simple answer for what has been plaguing the 15-16 Lakers this season: their age.

"Cause we're old as s---," said the 34-year-old Bryant when asked why a lack of energy has been a problem for L.A. all season. "What do you want? We just got to figure out how to play when we don't have that energy. We got to change things up a little bit defensively. We got to figure out what we want to do offensively, figure out what we want to do on nights when we don't have those legs or have that energy."
Metta World Peace, 33, refused to accept the age of the Lakers' roster as an excuse for their play, pointing out what the New York Knicks have accomplished so far this season.

"That's no excuse, the Knicks are playing great, so that's no excuse," World Peace said. "You can't use it as an excuse for us. Thank you. Thanks for trying."

Having an older roster hasn't stopped the Knicks from starting the season with a 21-10 record, good enough for the second-best mark in the Eastern Conference. The Knicks started the season with an average player age of 32 years and 240 days old, the oldest in NBA history, according to STATS, LLC.

I enjoy the fact that Kobe's trying to use age as the cause of losing games

Its only a matter of time before he really starts entertaining the media again like he did last year.

Thats when I start loving Kobe again .

Rose will start traveling with team.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose traveled with the team Tuesday night to Florida and will be with them all week as he continues his rehab from a torn left ACL.

This is the first trip with the Bulls for the former MVP since tearing his ACL in the first game of the Eastern Conference playoffs against the Philadelphia 76ers on April 28. Rose was rehabbing in the Los Angeles area when the Bulls faced the Clippers on Nov. 17, but this will mark the first time Rose has accompanied the team and its medical staff since his surgery May 12.

It is still unclear as to when Rose will return to the floor, but Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau admitted recently that Rose has started doing the non-contact drills in practice. Thibodeau has stated repeatedly that Rose is still 'a ways away' from playing in a game and hasn't started taking contact in practice.

Rose has been running and cutting for several weeks and seems to be in better spirits around the United Center and the Berto Center. The Bulls play the Orlando Magic on Wednesday and the Miami Heat on Friday.

As Rose continues his rehab, the Bulls shored up their point guard rotation by fully guaranteeing Nate Robinson's contract for the rest of the season, according to a source familiar with the situation. The Chicago Tribune reported earlier that Robinson's deal would be guaranteed. The move did not come as a surprise given that Robinson, who signed a partially guaranteed deal as a free agent before the season, has been a spark-plug off the Bulls' bench this year, scoring 11 points and dishing out four assists a game.

He needs to hold himself accountable in the post game conferences, He's been burned on the defensive end constantly this year.

According to JaVale, he was "stirring the pot, then tasting it. I just wanted to show everybody that I have the most creative 3-point celebrations in the league."

I'm late (but who cares). Looks like the Knicks got on the bad end of the "Live by the 3, Die by the 3" saying lol.

Damian Lillard looked great for the most part. I hope he can stay health. Portland just has bad luck in that department.

It's also great to see that Rose will be traveling with the team. Sounds like either right before All Star break return or right after. I really hope he takes his time.

                      Didn't start.
Threw up some nervous shots that missed but had a couple of P&R dunks.

                      Defense though

It looked like the Blazers were playing 5-on-4 while he was out there.

It's gonna take him awhile to get it together offensively and his teammates to adjust to him being out there.

But defensively...forget it. Amare makes us incredibly worse.

I wonder if he forgets to account for the sheer number of shots he takes every game. Yet his legs aren't there?

They should've asked Dwight instead so he could blame everybody but himself also.

I do agree with one thing though. DAntoni has them logging heavy minutes and expecting them to go full blast every game, its going to catch up to them.

This is what people were talking about in the Amare thread...they weren't exaggerating. Dude just cannot play D. Melo has never been a great defender, but he puts forth effort, and he knows how to use what tools he has to guard his man....Amare just seems to have no defensive awareness whatsoever...just seems completely lost.

It's one game of course, but it looked like more of the same last night...

Not gonna get to see the Mavs/Heat game tonight.

                            That's probably for the better.

The Hawks have to be the least talked about 20 win team in the league. They're up there with the Heat, Knicks, Thunder, Clippers, Spurs and Warriors and no one is saying a single thing about them.
