I agree, that is my lone complaint about Kevin Love: he is taking too many three-point attempts. This season he is at 5 per game--same as last season--i want him at 2, max of 3 attempts per game. In '10-11 he shot ~2 3PA per game and averaged half an offensive rebound per game more than this season and last. This is not a coincidence, as a GM (coach and teammate), I want that rebound, not 20% from three.

Re: Who are the top 3 PFs in NBA today?
Come on.. the man still averages 14 rebounds per game.. lol.. he's shot 41 and 37% in the last two seasons from deep. Not a valid criticism IMO plus he has barely played this year so his offensive boards could have went up if for not getting re-injured. He hasn't shot well this year in limited games because of that very injury. He's a damn good shooter otherwise and still finds a way to grab rebounds as well as any other big man in the league.Comment

Let me rephrase, because my issues with him this year haven't really been basketball related..
My thing w/ Love is: I don't mind his 3pt shooting, my main issues with him has always defense...and im not as big on his rebounding as others...he's a great rebounder no doubt, but I get the feeling he cares to much about his rebounding numbers when out there, he's what my old coach would call a "selfish rebounder"...doesn't finish defensive possessions to get defensive rebounds,Comment

Maybe so. But a defensive rebound still gets your team the ball back.. And it's not like the Timberwolves have enough pieces for him to be more aggressive and risk foul trouble..Let me rephrase, because my issues with him this year haven't really been basketball related..

Plus Love makes great decisions out of his rebounding, as far as when and where to make his outlet passes.
But I do understand where you are coming from.. For me, I would just take Love lacking some defense but being a top rebounder and scorer over a guy who could defend a little better but was lacking in the other two areas.. In most cases it's the centers job to protect the rim anywaysComment

Re: Who are the top 3 PFs in NBA today?
Well stated OJ. I agree because I think that with the way blocking and shooting fouls are called in the league, an aspect of 'smart defense' is knowing when not to "..finish defensive possessions..", avoid a foul and get in position for the rebound.
I'm just saying that I want Love to stretch the floor, but with his mid-range shot and not his 3-point shot. Because the mid-range shot affords him the potential of driving to the hoop where as the 3-pointer does not.***1971-72 ABA Roster 2K12 360***

Re: Who are the top 3 PFs in NBA today?
1. Love
2. Griffin
3. Aldridge
I like Ibaka better than Blake and LaMarcus, but Idk that he's better than them.
Zebo is nice, but I'd rather have everyone else I've mentioned.
If we are going to count smaller players playing out of position, LeBron and Melo would both be on my list.Comment

Re: Who are the top 3 PFs in NBA today?
Toughest question in awhile..........
1) Zach Randolph
2) Blake Griffin
3) Kevin Love
Honorable Mention: LaMarcus Aldridge, Serge Ibaka, Josh Smith and Chris Bosh
Crazy that Pau Gasol, Dirk Nowitzki and Amar'e Stoudemire aren't considered "elite" anymore, although that is mostly do to injury.San Antonio Spurs 5 - Time ('99, '03, '05, '07, '14) NBA Champions

As of Right now at this moment alone
1. Zach Randolph
2.Josh Smith
3.Blake Griffen
4.David Lee
5.Aldridge
I know Duncan but I see him as a center now. Love, Dirk , and Amare are still finding their rhythms after injuries. Bosh kinda gets overshadowed. Gasol is hurt still. So this is a today's list.Last edited by Rockie_Fresh88; 01-07-2013, 12:36 PM.#1 Laker fan

I've been one of the most critical about Blake in the past but from what I've seen from him, he's improving his game. His post up game is much improved, he can actually make moves on guys and get some shots by doing something other than just powering through them. I expect him to do a lot of work on his jumper over this offseason to improve that as well.NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers
