Re: Nick Batum or Paul George

I don't have an answer for this question, but I think it may be the most thoughtful comparison yet in this forum. Nearly identical stats this season, with extemely similar team roles, physical attributes (George is taller, but Batum still has the longer wingspan, both have 99th percentile type athleticism & potential), and they are actually only 1 yr, 4.5 mos. apart in age, which is pretty insignificant given that we don't know what the future holds healthwise for them (although I'd bet on George being more durable).

I don't even want to try answering it. I'd love it if these guys were the top 2 wing players in the league in 2-3 years and the Pacers met the Blazers regularly in the Finals.

        Indiana Pacers guard/forward Paul George
        • All-Star selections: first
        • Season stats: 17.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists a game
        • Why he made it: George stepped into Danny Granger's scoring role while maintaining his lockdown defense on opponents' top scorers.

Another triple-double for Batum last night.

I think I'd go with Batum, but it's really close.

Batum has made the playoffs more times than George has and plays on a far worse team.
He's made it 1 more time than George(in 3+ more years in the L) and George has performed better than him already.

In the playoffs? Not hardly.. Maybe from looking purely at stats but George crumbled against the heat. Didn't even look comfortable taking shots.

But it doesn't matter. What was said is when Batum can make the playoffs.. And he has made the playoffs

Do u think Batum could slow down Rose the way George did in the Playoffs?

Idk, Batum is pretty strong defensively too... He might not be able to play Rose as well, but I think he would do better against the bigger guys than George would.

Well he's a 3rd option on a not so great team in the better conference.

So George was voted in because the East is weaker?

It helps but no that's definitely not the only reason. He's been ballin this year

But Batum is still "better" since the comp is higher? And you waiting for The Playoffs to determine who's better if the OP question is NOW?

Who do u want on your team?

I answered who I would rather have on my team right now

As of right now neither guy is that go-to type player.

With that being said if I was picking one of them to play for me right now it would be Batum. I think he is more suited for the robin to somebody's batman type role. At this point he seems more comfortable with the ball in his hand, and is better at setting up teammates. He's also better defensively and scores just as many points as George does.

If I was going to start fresh and rebuild for the long term George is who I would pick. He is the one with bigger potential IMO and his game is more versatile. Not many 6'10" guys can play SG. His size and length makes him a good rebounder and his offensive game keeps getting better and better.
This is what I said before
