Last year? That's Kobe EVERY game. He'd play like that in a game of one on one with a middle schooler... that's how he's made up.

That was after he fouled him (pretty hard too, lol) right? That 30 second stretch probably showed the difference between Kobe and Lebron in a nutshell.

I disagree, There have definitely been games in Kobe's Career where he has slacked off on defense. He's even had a few this year. The Loss to Cleveland is a prime example.

As for your second point I'm not sure what you're inferring with saying that 30 second stretch showed the difference. Maybe in body language I'm not sure...

Let's look at it from a "human" perspective for a change. This isn't saying Kobe goes 100% 100% of the time. It's that he's going to take every competition seriously, no matter what it is. He takes every all star game seriously... not as serious as a finals game, of course. Not even as serious as a regular season game, but always more serious than just about anyone else out there. He wants to win.

The difference I'm talking about is James just being an insanely talented player but embraces the fun in moments like the all star game, while Kobe wants it to be more "competitive" fun than "playful" fun.

even from that perspective I've seen immature displays in big games where I can say he didn't really take competition that serious. Like game 7 against the suns. I can agree with the statement that most of the times He's out there to kill but the statement that was written that caught my attention was that he's like that all the time. which I believe isn't true at all

I think the notion that Lebron isn't competitive enough or is different from Kobe is overblown. I just think Lebron displays it differently than Kobe. There was nothing playful about Lebron in game 6 against the Celtics last year. He has the same look that game that Kobe, and MJ have had before.

I also use the left for fine motor skills and the right for activities that require more strength. Cross-dominance is the term that encompasses all forms of mixed-handedness or lateral preference, including ambidexterity.

Russell's was the only one I really didn't want to miss, because he has so many accomplishments that transcend what he did on the basketball court.

It's hard to say anything profound that hasn't already been said about Mr. Russell, but getting to talk with him would be like having the coolest grandfather ever for anyone interested in sports, history, or hoping to pick up valuable wisdom that applies to life in general. I love his unique blend of intelligence and lack of inhibition.

When I start to worry that sports are basically meaningless entertainment and I'm wasting my time paying too much attention to them, I think of people like Russell, Ali, and of course Jackie Robinson. They remind me that athletes deserve a huge portion of the credit for each new generation being more likely to see people of all races as equals.

That's bc you take everything Kobe related too literally. When I say "lets look at it from a human perspective" that includes understanding that the term "all the time" doesn't mean you can't find a single contradictory incident in 14 years. Not to mention I was talking about his approach to situations like the All Star game.

Nobody said Lebron wasn't competitive enough. Again, we're in the All Star Game thread. Most players chill at the all star game, joke around, want to be playful. I'd say Kobe and Lebron are both extremes of that while most other players are somewhere in the middle. He's supposed to have that look in Game 6 of a championship series. Please don't turn this into any kind of comparison of the two or a knock on one or the other. That wasn't what my post was about.

Although I despise Kobe with a fiery burning passion that originates somewhere deep within the loins, I actually like seeing his competitive fire in this game.

I understand it's supposed to be fun, and all that jazz, but this is really the only time we get to watch the 24 best players in the world really go at each other all at one time. I wouldn't mind seeing a little more of a competitive edge in this game and guys really taking it to each other, even if it is just limited to the fourth quarter.

that's an on assumption on your part. This isn't a Kobe thing. There have been all star games when Kobe hasn't played like he did on Sunday, but We'll have our own opinions and agree to disagree.

I'll just say that I don't think Lebron is on the other extreme. If you said Dwight Howard then yeah I'd agree with you.

nba.com poll asks people if Ross should come back in 2014 to defend his crown in dunk contest, so far, over 80% of people have said YES. So that's a good sign that at least people were happy with the winner of the contest.

Rookie should be Victor Oladipo, assuming he enters the draft.
