    Re: Starbury returns to NYC?!?

Well, technically, Kobe isn't a FA yet. He has a clause in his contract that allows him to opt out of his contract at the end of this year. His actual contract goes to the end of next year if he doesn't opt out this year. Make sense? So, it's all up to Kobe and what he wants to do.

Matrix, I was curious to see your opinion on the trade. I assumed all the Suns fans would be pissed, but on another board they like the move.

            Re: Starbury returns to NYC?!?

Oh ok....yeah my bro explained it to me too, I probably wouldve realized that if I was up for a couple hours but I've only been up for a little while.

Damn, I got happy there for a second. Maybe we're gonna save money for the '05 Free Agent pool.

As for the trade, well.....I dont know. This is the shakeup that I was calling for, just not the one I expected OR wanted. I guess thats all thats possible though. We get Lampe, McDyess (who knows, he's gotta be better than Googs off the bench). Eisley sucks ***, Ward is not bad, and we get money and 2 first round picks.

I hope to God that the Knicks dont make the playoffs this year. Actually, I dont know, there's no one really standout in this year's draft just yet.

Whats the deal w/ this Milos guy?? Can anyone shed some light on him for me? Whats his contract status? Strengths? Weaknesses?

Whos gonna run the point for us now....Eisley? Better freakin not. Ward? I guess, maybe. It'll probably end up being Ward for a little then if Barbosa can step in to start, he will. At least we get more depth.

How has Lampe looked in this season? I dont watch NY games so I dont know how he's playing or anything. I hope he looks good.

My main gripe with this thing is that it looks like we're gonna become big suitors for Kobe. Think about it. Hot weather, quieter city than LA. It makes sense for him to come. Only thing is, he said he wants his OWN team and I believe this is Shawn's and Amare's team now. Another thing is, is that Colangelo has a reputation for getting clean players and keeping the organization clean, so I doubt he'll dive into Kobe. I sure hope not. I'd rather push for Q-Rich, and offer him some money that the Clips wont want to match.

My other gripe about this is that Marbury was EXACTLY what we needed. Someone to take charge, put points up on the board, AND dish the ball. He fired up the crowds with his passes to Shawn or Amare for the alley oop, or whatnot. Raising his hands in a tense situation always got everyone fired up, we'll miss that.

I dont know, looks like we're giving up this season. Hopefully someone pops up in the draft, and that the Knicks dont make the playoffs. 2 Lottery picks plus major cap room should help.

lampe hasn't played a game yet, been injuried all season, but for what it means he looked really good in summer leagues.

i love this trade on both sides it works perfect on both ends, this is why the nba is sooooo good.

                        Re: Starbury returns to NYC?!?

Vujaric- According to Vlade Divac, he's the best PG overseas right now (that's saying alot) and prior to the trade being made, he would've been the best PG on the Knicks roster, before Frank Williams recent explosion of course. Never seen footage of this kid, but I think he's legit from Vlade's constant raving about him.

Lampe- Only seen him in the preseason. He's raw. Good height and good outside jumper. Not a low post player yet, but I think he would've been a quality big man in the East. Now, with him out West and having to go against the Duncan's, Shaq, etc., I really don't know. More of a high-post kind of player. Unproven. He's only 18 though. I think he has good upside.

Ward- They probably won't even make up a jersey for him. I HIGHLY doubt Phoenix keeps him. They'll just get rid of his contract by January 10th to save some money.

Eisley- May the Lord help you.

I think Barbosa's the PG for now. Has to be. Man, you have no other choice. I feel bad for Shawn Marion though. This guy works his *** off and has to put up with this B.S. through April.

                        Thanks J. Colangelo!

Great, ESPN Insider already has an article on getting Kobe.

Hopefully this Vujanic guy is for real....he certainly seems appealing in that article.

EDIT: In the article they also mentioned that the Suns are probably not done dealing, as they will probably trade a player and a pick for something. This brings the question....WHO? Who are we gonna trade now? Googs is coming off the books (which would be the only concievable reason why anyone would trade for him). We're not gonna trade Amare, or Marion. We cant trade Barbosa (PG Depth), Eisley? Apparently we cant trade him if the Knicks supposedly struggled trading him. We wont trade Zarko. Who the hell else do we have?

The only person we can trade is Joe Johnson, and he BETTER be the one we trade. Joe Johnson and one of the Knicks future picks and maybe some cash for a player of some sort. That'd be very nice.

Also, they mentioned how the Suns are gonna buy out Ward's contract sometime this week, so he'll be gone soon.
