    Re: 2/19 - 2/25 Games Discussion Thread

I'm sorry, I'm gonna stick to my guns, I'll take all the heat for it from my fellow OS'ers, I will say it all season.

    The Clippers are not contenders.

Offensively they've been in the half court offense all game, and can't execute. Pick and roll all game & Lob City will not exist in the playoffs and will not work. I can't think of a team that won the Finals that didn't have a guy they can throw the ball into and say, go get me a bucket. Chris Bosh (blegh), LeBron, Dirk, Kobe/Pau/Bynum, Garnett, Duncan, Sheed... Like I said, I don't care if its February, you telling me you're the 3rd best team in the West and you think you can compete and you're not amped for the top team coming into your building? Don't give me that crap. This was a measuring stick, and it's obvious where the Clippers rank to me... on the second-tied level with the Knicks, Pacers, etc. not a true contender. Don't believe the hype!

The counter argument I guess could be, well what about OKC and MIA last week. Miami won that convincingly. That's true, but the Heat are playing extremely well and LeBron is playing out his mind.

I expected a better showing from the Clippers. The games not over, and they can very well come back, but I just can't see it.

Del Negro getting exposed hard again.

Once again no cp, and the team falls apart. The tnt guys picking apart his lack of offense and inability to get the best out of the guys he has.

The dude just needs to go.

What is great to see is the tnt guys appreciating the spurs game and pointing out the obvious that's always ignored

I felt like they wouldn't win with him and I was hoping they would get rid of him after last season, but I think with them beating Memphis in the playoffs, it kinda felt like they almost had to give him an extension. Had they lost that series I think he definitely would've been gone.

You guys stay saying the same thing after every Clipper game. We get it.

Clips still up 2-1 in the series. Regular season don't mean much but people sure do like to make a lot out of one game. Even if the Clips went 4-0 against the Spurs in the regular season you'd still say "Clippers won't beat the Spurs in the playoffs". We get it. Even if the Clippers win the title you'd hear "Del Negro still needs to be fired". We get it.

Seriously I don't know what the point in repeating yourself every other post... but knock yourselves out.

I'll continue to say it til he's gone because he displays his incompetence just as often.

Don't know about the we get it, I'm not trying to prove a point to whomever you call yourself speaking for.

Just skip the post and move on next time.

I never said you were trying to prove a point, I think by now we get what you guy's point is, which is what I was saying. No matter what they do or how much they win you two will still say the same thing. I'll move on from the topic when you guys do, but I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon.

That Rockets win over OKC was amazing. I really don't like OKC's offense. It's all on Durant and Westbrook really. They run very little set plays to get everyone involved and they don't have a reliable post presence. When Durant and Westbrook starts to miss the offense looks really horrible. No movement, only iso's and forced penetration. They don't seem to have improved offensively after that loss to Miami in the playoffs.

I don't really know why Durant took that early fadeaway three either with 20 seconds left.

Yeah, it was unfortunate. They started cheering, it seemed, for Nate's "effort," but if you see the clip you can hear the increase once he starts favoring his left leg. It was brief, but that's all it takes. But let's not start comparing fans to those in Philly ... cause that'd be beyond cray.

As a diehard Philly fan lets just stop here. We've only cheered honestly one time for an injury that I can recall and that was when Michael "My Crackhead Cousin Forgot His Pipe" Irvin went down at the Vet. That happened years ago. We will still pour beer on an opposing fan or hit on his wife but I can't recall outside of the Irvin injury in which we cheered.

                          Joakim Noah, playoffs, last year.

I'm sure there's more, however that doesn't change the fact that Chicago is wrong for what they did last night. That's the first time I've seen a Chicago crowd do something like that and I was ashamed by it. Especially considering what they witnessed happened to D-Rose on that same floor.

Outside of cheering for injuries, we know the reputation. It was an ugly scene last night from the Bulls fans, I can't and won't argue that. I was simply speaking to the "rethinking the thoughts between Chicago and Philadelphia fans." I wasn't looking to expand on it past that.

The crowd was especially hot it seemed last night...I know y'all don't like the Heat, but they seemed more fired up than usual...

I don't know what was going on last night. Maybe seeing D-Rose out there with the athletic layups got them all fired up. As far as I know, he's only been shooting jumpshots pregame, last night was the first night they've seen him doing layups and doing some real moving around. Either that or ESPN hyping up the LeBron v Jordan talks in the past few weeks.
