Ibaka, lol. Obviously you weren't trying to hurt him but that was one of the cheaper shots I've seen in a while.

"He hit my hands away,” Ibaka told reporters afterward. “He's strong, so when he grabs you, your jersey or whatever, and you try to defend yourself and rebound. So maybe you can do some move, not to hurt, (but) just to get good position, but then something happens where you get hurt in the paint. It's not anything where I want to try to hurt him. I'm not that kind of person. I just try to play hard, and that's it."

The fact is about the Lakers and why people are getting driven crazy about them is we're constantly subjected to see every little thing they do. Every win they get is a MASSIVE win and they're TURNING IT AROUND. Nobody wants to see the Lakers as they are: a poorly constructed team with a bad coach, a star player that is trying to do it all himself, another star player who doesn't seem to care, an aging but still great point guard who has a role we still aren't really sure of yet and a bunch of bench guys who are either underachieving or aren't good. They aren't going to do anything in the playoffs if they get in. I think looking at this team right now, you're DELUSIONAL if you think they could do anything but maybe steal a close one at home against the Spurs, Clippers or Thunder or even the Nuggets.

Kobe is playing absolutely out of his mind right now and the Lakers are still barely squeaking by in games. What's gonna happen when he stops shooting such a ridiculously high percentage? The Lakers needed an amazing game from Kobe just to slip past the Mavericks who just got humiliated in basically their most important game of the year against the Rockets. The Lakers don't DESERVE to be talked about any more than the Mavs, the Rockets, the Blazers or any of those other Western Conference teams fighting for a playoff spot. And I understand why they're talked about, because its the Lakers. But it would be great to hear about teams that are actually playing well such as the Pacers, Hakws, Bulls, Nuggets, Grizzlies, Jazz and Rockets, but those teams get pushed to the side far too often and its unfortunate.

                    Almost all this is true.

Lakers's defense is still a mess, coach's rotation is more than suspect, they're turnovers prone and they lack a deep bench.

But you still overrate LAC and OKC.

This goes without saying but a few things:

                      1. You can't call out Bryant here, by saying he's trying to do it all himself. He's not doing the one-man show thing anymore

                      2. People don't give a damn about the Atlanta Hawks or the Utah Jazz. And I don't blame them. As far as "deserving to get talked about", well maybe you should stop watching ESPN. Some of you act as if you are forced to watch that garbage when it's only gotten worse year after year.

If Artest, Hibbert and Lee got suspended, Ibaka should get a game. Dude wound up and aimed straight for Griffin's groin. Lol

I definitely agree Ex...I have no idea why this ESPN complaining is still a "thing" in 2013,..

There is a ridiculous amount of ways to follow the NBA now...if you want to hear people talk about Atlanta, they have a dedicated site and various podcasts....hell, Sports South has a hour show dedicated to the Hawks...

                        I don't get it...lol

You guys are missing the point. I don't watch ESPN, but when I'm watching a game that isn't even about the Lakers and they get brought up or I'm watching halftime and have to hear Magic drone on about them, it gets old.

I didn't mean to put any of this on Kobe, Kobe has been playing incredible ball lately, without LeBron's crazy run I'd say he'd be playing the best ball out of anyone in the league and I think you could argue that he's right there with LeBron, but the team isn't worth all the talk and attention they get. The only reason anyone says that no one cares about the Jazz or Hawks is because no one even gets a chance to care about them. The media has decided there's about 5 teams we should care about: Miami, the Lakers, the Clippers, the Thunder and the Knicks. The rest of the teams get pushed to the backburner. I understand there are reasons to talk about those five teams but I feel like teams like the Jazz and Hawks shouldn't be ignored like they are.

And bringing up local channels is irrelevant. Obviously local channels are going to talk about their team, that's a given anywhere you go. Its really just a failure of sports journalism these days IMO.

this is alot of envy right there.

what ppl cant stand is that the lakers always matter. whether in a good way or a bad way. they are never irrelevant. some teams only matter relevent when they are doing good/great.

the lakers are the only team in all of sports that is truly international. its the strongest brand in all of sports. it may not always be fair or deserved, but its true. the lakers ALWAYS matter. because they always move the needle (ratings) one way or the other.

couple lines from Hov says it best.

your team (as a brand) aint got enough stamps in their passport/to F wit the lakers/international....

you cant touch the untouchable/sink the unsinkable, reach the unreachable/its the lakers baby....

lol I know you're joking here but I'm gonna respond to this mode of thinking. I'm not saying the Lakers shouldn't get attention, obviously they're one of the biggest names in basketball and they are always gonna get viewers, like the Yankees. The problem I have is the constant shoving of them down our throats. Like does the ninth seed in the West really need to be mentioned just as often if not more often than the team with the best record in the NBA? I mean when the ninth seed is getting just as much attention as the defending champs there's something wrong with the way basketball is covered.
