Jus when I thought I was out...THEY PULL ME BACK IN!!
Everybody hear abut LIVE's new innovative control system? It seems they are putting the righ analog stick to use for the "special" moves control. It actually seems like a logical idea where you get to choose your move instead of it being randomly choosen by the comp. I'm wondering, even with this new, no doubt needed feature, will LIVE go back to #1? I mean even w/o the neccessary arean atmospheres? I like the 3d models, but 2k3's look more like the real player. Man, jus when I thought I made up my mind, LIVE makes me rethink again!

What a shame NBA 2k3 didn't think of this, but I guess I'll miss this feature. After last years DEAD 2002, I don't think I can trust EA Sports Canada in NBA games, maybe next year. (Unless they get good reviews, change their universal arenas, give it a presentation feel like NBA 2k, make the players look like their real-life counter parts)

They have me intrigued. This gives me more control. If it works like they claim, it is going to be sweet. Granted they need to fix rebounding and the A.I. (which they claim they have). So if they offer what they promise, it might be worth a look. Graphically they do need to improve in certain aspects, howerver; I doubt that will happen because the game is available on the PC. That gives the patchers something to do . There is no reason why the games don't look better at this point (IMO player faces are hit and miss). Everybody says it is all about gameplay, that is what EA claims to have fixed. I am all about giving it a shot. I am pumped for this season!Comment

Not if they are choppy as hell with 20 FPS like some other versions of live..........when you shoot the ball it goes down like this ....... ......... ........... .......... instead of .........................................., its like they have frame rate problems or something.Comment

You read my mind too!
Live 2003 is actually supposed to be a constant 60 fps, but the problem is actually, 'the amount' of frames EA create. There simply arent enough in between frames, and your little diagram of the dots... .... .... is so simple yet so perfect in describing, not just the ball, but all animations in the Live series, including the videos for this new Live.
EA are an obvious level below what Sega Sports can create.Comment

It's funny you say that cuz I think it beat NBA 2k2 in sales on the PS2.Cameras or guns, one of them is gonna shoot me to death.Comment

Re: Jus when I thought I was out...THEY PULL ME BACK IN!!
You are correct ADMIRAL50.
Most people believe that EA is having problems optimizing the engine to make it run smoothly. The problem is, as you stated, not enough animations to make it look smoothly. I have no doubt that it runs at 60fps.
Perhaps the programmers are just lazy. But, it would seem they would get plenty of animations from their motion capture sessions.
Anybody with any background in animation know the reasons behind this?Comment

Yeah, Tiburon has done a lot w/ EA Sports, I mean they stepped up Madden. Nascar wasn't even NASCAR THUNDER before they came. Nascar sucked before Tiburon came aboard. Maybe Tiburon could give LIVE a much needed breath of fresh air. Plus, why is EA SPORTS Canada making a NBA LIVE game?
