Steve Nash is in a deep decline. Doesn't mean he won't have great games here and there. He's still a serviceable point guard without a doubt. He's 39 years old, it's to be expected.

Also D'antoni had this to say of the Lakers recent Ball Movement
In their 113-102 win over the Sacramento Kings on Sunday, the Los Angeles Lakers had six players in double figures and 28 assists as a team. Antawn Jamison and Metta World Peace scored 27 and 22 points each, while Steve Nash and Steve Blake combined for 20 assists.
All of that transpired without Kobe Bryant, who is out indefinitely due to a severe ankle sprain.
Mike D'Antoni believes the Lakers should not have to be reliant on Bryant to play one-on-one basketball when he returns, because they have proven to be much more balanced playing together and sharing the ball.
"We don't have to be one-player dominant," D'Antoni said. "The ball has to move, and when it does, we're really good."Comment

Yeah, I'm sure you do.
He wouldn't make it to the end of the season if he had to carry the team the entire year. His speed has decreased, his lateral burst has decreased, he can't slice through defenses as consistently as we're used to seeing. He's become much more of a jump shooter.
Again, he's 39. It's to be expected. I would not even rank Nash as a top 10 point guard this year.Comment

Re: 3/12 - 3/18 Games Discussion Thread
Well, obviously it's hypothetical. The discussion is hypothetical in nature.
Stats don't show a thing considering the offense is completely different. Any regular viewer of Laker games will tell you that Nash simply can't penetrate like he used to relegating him to a perimeter player mostly.
Again, he's still serviceable and his IQ will carry him through the decline of his physical attributes.Comment

Here is a good question... Who do you guys think is the better 39 year old? Steve Nash or Jason Kidd? (I'd go with Kidd)Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

If you put both guys on a team and expected him to carry the team, I would go with Nash no doubt. Kidd is pretty much a bench player these days. Nash is close to a top 10 point guard still.Comment

Well then I'd question your eyes but as you said, everyone has their opinions. The offense isn't structured around Nash. But when things break down and he's looked upon to create shots or opportunities, he hasn't been able to do that with the kind of consistency we're used to seeing. You see it different, obviously since everytime Nash has a decent game you like to gloat about it.Comment

Re: 3/12 - 3/18 Games Discussion Thread
Shooting percentages prove that he still penetrates to the bucket and dices through defenses?
Again, he's more of a perimeter player now. His ability to get into the paint has greatly decreased.
Nash has had more subpar games than good ones. If that's Kobe's fault or anyone else's fault, cool.Comment
