Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - 1st Round Discussion Thread

The Bucks couldn't get anything through pick and roll last night. So they started isolating Ellis and Jennings for a few buckets. That won't last too long.

I'm more shocked about the Bulls game on Saturday. I didn't think the game would be that one sided.

LeBron is one of the few guys that doesn't care about his own stats and that's something that's been said of him over the course of his career. I remember I thi mmmm k like 3 years ago or so he was interviewed and asked if he could ever lead the league in scoring again and he replied he could probably lead the league in scoring every year if he tried but he doesn't care about that. He's one of those guys that's more focused on the right basketball play than stats (of course he did say he wanted to be more efficient player but don't we all?)

I also think that's why he probably misses out on triple doubles sometime.

There's a win in there if you say it right. The problem isn't that Jennings said his team will beat the Heat. It's that he said they would do it in six games.

There's nothing wrong with being asked: "will your team win?" And saying: "Yea, I believe we will win."

No one can joke on that.

But Jennings made it a point to suggest they were the better team and wouldn't even need 7 games to get it done. He tried to embarrass Miami and they embarrassed them in return.

In other news, my favorite player to dislike after Russell Westbrook, JR Smith, is about to win Sixth Man of the Year.

I think he deserves it. I was hard on him (like he could hear me) but he completely changed his game and started driving to the basket. A huge shift that made him a better player and a legit max guy this off season (whoa, what? Yes. I said it).

And Smith even said he took to many threes in the second half against Boston and needed to attack in game two.

              Maybe people can change.

Ok let's get this out the way, the Bucks don't stand a chance I'm sorry but jennings and ellis jacking up contested long jumpers all game will not cut it.

And I'm not gonna lie I enjoyed the beat down the Bulls got the other night lol, you know how much I dislike the Bulls

The Pacers and Hawks series is a snoozefest, this is the second year in a row that the Pacers had a first round bye (Magic with no Dwight last year)

I honestly think the Celtics are gonna win in 6 games, only 8 points in the 4th and you only lose by 7 ? that's a positive way to look at it

If my Bucks want to win atleast 1 game, Sanders needs to be on the floor & not on bench due to foul trouble &,Ilyasova has to score double digits

imo, doug collins is the best color guy. its like he's 2 possessions in the future. he says it and then it happens exactly the way he said it would way 9 out of 10 times. i cant wait for his return.

i know alot of folks like hubie the best and hubie is great to, but id take doug collins over anybody anyday.

and im sure that im all alone on this next statement; but i miss bill walton too. i liked his imagery and that his style was 100% his own.

The Bucks went to an isolation offense in the second half. Pick and rolls were usless.

Kenny Smith basically said Brandon Jennings plays best when its not organized basketball.

He wasnt criticizing him, but I don't think thats a good thing. There was always that dude that played where he just played off balance and that was his game, but if Jennings is running the show and can't get his guys going because they need the structure to succeed, its not going to work.

Shaq calling him a player like Nick Van Excel is so off.

Not that Milwaukee really has a chance anyways, but putting Larry Sanders on Chris Bosh is just an awful decision. Basically negates everything that Sanders does well because he isn't going to block shots while sitting in the corner at the 3 point line with Bosh. He needs to be on Haslem/Birdman and on the bench if neither of those two are in the game to save his fouls that he's guaranteed to pick up anyway.

Jennings and Ellis need to make decisions quicker. When they ran the pick and pop with Ilyasova, Ilyasova was left open almost every time, but the guards would dribble the ball until the Heat recovered and then pick it up and try to reset the "offense" (and I use that term loosely).
