Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - 1st Round Discussion Thread

Knicks were complacent...it's like they expected to show up and win. Now you have to go into Boston and win a game 6 where the crowd will be all riled up and the team is on a high as well...good job.

    While saying this, Boston won't make 50% and 11 3's...at least, I don't think.

Like I said yesterday.. No need to fuel the fire with JR comments. Just get out there and play.

But I'm excited about tonight game. Bulls vs Nets

I just don't get how a team that hasn't won anything could talk trash the way JR and Kenyon did. It's uncalled for. I think the Celtics win the next game and this goes to 7 games like I predicted earlier.

They just be trying to get in Melo's head some more. KG planted the seed earlier, lets see if this 'watering' of the seed by Crawford grows to be something in game 6.

Who knows what Melo has said/done aswell.

What was the funeral stuff? I didn't get it. Was it a 'we're gonna burry the celtics tonight' type of thing?

Knicks up 3-1 a win last night sending the Celtics home and ending their season. Yeah, it was basically a funeral for the Celtics season. Pretty standard stuff.

Not that Carmelo puts up big assist numbers (2.6 this year) or that assist numbers really matter, but I'm just amazed that this guy has 6 assists in 5 games. Just because I feel like it's so damn easy to record an assist even when you're a blackhole. You can still dominate the entire shot clock and record assists.

To only have 6 in 5 games is surprising to me.

Still seething from last night's loss...
                  • At one point JR and Melo were a combined 1/20 on their last 20 FGA.
                  • The Knicks had a 15-possession stretch that resulted in three total points, including FT.
                  • Not sure the source, my boy sent me an email today that the Knicks are iso'ing 27% of the time this series. The league average is 10%.

Did see a hilarious tweet last night that Melo's assists should be counted in dog years.

This is pretty much why he'll never lead a franchise to the pinnacle. Finding an open man for an easy bucket vs chucking up awful, contested, deep 2-pointers. It's not winning basketball unless he's on fire and it'll never get it done consistently against true contenders.

                      Yikes.

The stat on ISO's is from ESPN next level. Saw that on Sportscenter...

Carmelo had been on fire the last month or more but he was seriously taking some questionable shots. Contested shots. They just happened to go in because the man was feeling it.

Hopefully they can find more good looks, besides three's...

It would be a shame to lose against a Rondo-less Celtics team.

The problem is that they all mostly look to iso and go one on ones. It's not just Melo. It's Melo and then JR smith and then Felton. They all go one on one. It was ridiculous last night. They played team ball for 4 minutes to start the 3rd, they where getting layups and dunks and then Rivers called a timeout and it was over.

Knicks have no shot at winning anything.

So Carmelo has taken 137 shots and has 6 assists in 5 games.

You know how they talk about stars making their teammates better. This is not the way to accomplish that.

The NBA straight trolling with their schedule making again though. Four games tomorrow night that start at the same times for the first two and the same time for the following two?

                            Knicks/Celtics - 7 pm est ESPN

                            Pacers/Hawks - 7 pm est ESPN2

                            Thunder/Rockets - 9:30 pm est ESPN

                            Clippers/Grizzlies - 9:30 pm est ESPN2

Of course the worst schedule incidents have all happened with ESPN's involvement.

Yea even if the knicks win tonight. They can't play like this if they want to face the Heat. This hero ball stuff will never work. It's shocking to read that Melo only has 6 assist smh.
