Last night after the Cavaliers won, the reporter said that they were two games back from the final playoff spot in the east. In looking at the standings, I cannot figure out how they come up with the matchups. Can someone please elaborate on how the teams are paired up, and figured out which teams make it, and which do not. I figured it would be the top 8 teams with the best records going from each the East and West. Am I wrong?
