Shaq is important to the L, and important to the game, so you can't compare what he did/said to what we could/would do in our normal jobs.

If Shaq retired tomorrow, I bet that the NBA would still draw the same and be just as profitable.
Who cares if this is a normal job or not?? A job is a job. He has 3 bosses. The coach, the owner, the commish. Bottom Line. If he REALLY wanted to do something about the officiating, then I bet the NBA has a way players can approach that. Whether it be a meeting with the director of officials or with Stern himself. BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, Shaq wants to be "cool" and call Stern out on TV.

I agree with what you said. There is a right way and a wrong way to do it. And clearly Shaq took the wrong way.
But I'm gonna have to disagree about a job being a job. He cannot get fired for just saying something. Whereas you and I can. He get's paid about $275,000 a game. That's for 1 nights work. About 2.5 hours. 3/4 of which is actually on the court. The other 1/4 is on the bench. That's a ton of money. And it's a guaranteed contract, which is totally different than a normal job. They can damn near get away with anything and still get paid. That doesn't seem like a normal job to me.
